  1. I have to let a secret out, a head-fi pmed about letting go his PS-1 and EAR HP4 soon.
  2. I used to have the MF Xcans V3, RKV MkII, the Headroom Cosmic, the Porta Corda etc etc, all good amps with their own merits, reasons for selling them you asked? in search of headphone listening nirvana of course. IMHO this is "almost" if not possible to attain. Remember this hobby is one endless money pit.

Just a suggestion, go get some BMX inner tubes from the bicycle shop n couple it with the biggest u can find and you will get "air" suspension, cheap too.
  4. Speakers out from the Cayin thru a DIYed full-range Lowther horns, sounded very good but in a horn way. Not as a preamp personally. BTW be prepared to spend alota money if you are thinking bout using it as a int. as all high-efficiency full-range horns I know will cost alot more than your regular spks.
  5. Go 4 the black, much better looking + lower maintenance IMHO.
  6. If you are using the Lapis i/c, then I will recommend the Siemens or Sylvania's E88CC which should be available from Frankie (Wells) at Burlington Square. A pair should cost between 100-150 bucks.

It is time for some SOILDTECH's Feet-of-Silence you know!
  8. This is a media jukebox that I'll love to have, 80GB storage, USB2.0, MP3, MPEG4, Video rec/playback, GUI, 3.8inch LCD, etc.. http://archos.com/products/3d_av300.html Anyone know anything about the quality/price?
  9. This is one of my surplus executive attache case that is going up for sale from my closet cleanout. Beautiful condition, leather lined except for a small nick from usage. Great for work / just keeping your portable audio gears/subnotes. S$300 negotiable.
  10. The Senns sounds great with the MF especially after a tube-roll. You can upgrade the sound immmediately just by rolling to a pair of good NOS tubes.
  11. The glass optical cable from the headphones connects directly to the optical outputs of your digital source - if I'm not wrong this cans has a build in DAC that upsample to 96kHz.
  12. My favorite "budget" un-amped portable headphone rig: 1. Sony pcdp 330 with my Samsung in-ear that comes with my Yepp voice recorder. Great sound but the in-ear can only last as long as my itch tolerance to these plugs which is about 15 to 30 mins. My favorite un-amped portable headphone rig: 1. Sony pcdp 330 + the ATH-W2002. This combo has the best synergy n musicality IMHO. My favorite amped portable headphone rig: 1. Emmeline XP-7 with AD797 opamp + ATH-L3000. This is by-far the most natural sounding combo that I've heard ever, some of you out there might differ in option bout the L3000, but you can listen to this combo for hours without fatique n totally enjoying it. The details, bass xtension and mid is the best I've heard so far albeit a little bit soft on the highs(but it will definitely not bleed your ears). My favorite headphone experience out of a "portable" radio: 1. The Tivoli PAL + a borrowed NOS "S$20" Sennheiser HD560 with stock cable courtesy of Barradio. And yes it is not a typo, the HD560 is S$20 new, ask Rameish/Barradio for full story. Currently thinkin bout addin a sub-woofer system to my speakers setup, just may be a REL Storm to start with.
  13. Another headphones to lookout for from the infamous AT. http://www.audio-technica.co.jp/products/hp/ath-d1000.html
  14. Firefox performing "in-patient" surgery to the Shure
  15. A nice shot of the "collector grade headamp" from Shure and the Headmaster
  16. It was a simple affair at Rameish watering hole with our good friends from Brunei N@z n Mat, our resident DIYer Firefox, good old Lengcm, Barradio n AV98m + yours truly.
  17. Had a great time at the big boss man's casa, did some listening, did a little wining, and initiated the world's youngest headphone geek.
