  1. Got the link here. 2 softwares: http://www.nch.com.au/tonegen/index.html http://download.pchome.net/system/benchmark/18736.html kindly provided by pegasus21 and Top-gun
  2. The foam is quite ez to put in/out. I just hold down the center with 1 finger and push the edges in. The surrounding padding can be pull up slightly. White noise is like the tv noise when no reception. Pink is deeper, sound a bit like waves. They're supposed to be better for burning as more density to the sound. You can use a noise generator to make the sound, think got a thread in here with a link. These cans are crazy. Just listened to Black Eye Peas' Pump It with Jet Audio, BBE on, flat eq. The first bass note after the beg. guitar riff just blew me back.
  3. Hi aloy! The pad mod is just removing the foam pad in the middle. If you look inside the 'O' of yr cans there's this foamy layer. Just pinch it firmly and pull it out. Its not glued in or anything, you can work it back if you don't like the sound change. Its supposed to bring out the highs and mids and reduce the boomyness of the bass. Some people say after the cans are burnt in you can put the pads back in but its all up to you. I like it better now w/o the pads but dunno how the sound will change after burning. For burning, when I'm not listening to it, I play a loop of white noise, pink noise, some bass heavy music and some mariah (for her highs ). All this at slightly above listening volume. Its not very scientific or anything but I feel there's a bit of everything in there so the drivers can work harder for different kinds of sound.
  4. For the oomph factor I would say the K81DJ. I have both and the DJs rock when I feel like blasting my music. For outdoor use though, like on the bus, they don't isolate so well and I prefer my UM1s, I use tri-flange modded bi-flange and its really quite comfy and convenient. But the extension is lacking on these IEMs so I eq the top and bottom ends to compensate a bit. I listen to a lot of DnB, electronica, chill, some rock and a little jazz.
  5. Yo! Got mine on Friday! Got a white syncwrap too, Really nice, the jack looks real solid, just can't stand the cord. I got it wrapped thrice around the wrap, but it's neat so I don't mind so much. What I don't like is the plastic of the inner band and the silver hinges look kinda spotty, the silver especially looks like some cheap spray job. Sound is still murky and the bass over powers everything else. I've done the pad mod and still burning it in. With some extensive eq now, I can tell that this can has some potential when fully burnt in!
  6. For music generally they'll skip every minute or so, which could be kinda irritating. I only like the iTech ones as they have a really small form factor and allow you to use your own headphones.
  7. Those look pretty weird, but cool too. I'll still use something from i-tech if I want BT tho...
  8. Aron, which would you think fit the k81 cord better, smartwrap or syncwrap? How much is the syncwrap ah? You sell the twin pack too?
  9. Since he got it from SE without the wrap, apparently not. Or maybe must mention to Aron first? SE only sell smartwrap not syncwrap issit? Anyway the syncwrap hole is bigger so maybe cable will be loose inside? How thick is the k81dj cable?
  10. U got the smartwrap to go with it? Wondering if the syncwrap is more useful as the smartwrap seems too small for the k81dj cord.
  11. I'll probably get them next friday...
  12. Aron, how about we get the k81, you throw in the smartwrap? hahaha
  13. They don't. I think for k81 need the large wrap cuz the cord so bloody long.
  14. Any idea how much they are? I'm getting the k81dj but uncle says they're not in yet.
  15. I read people use a Sumajin Smartwrap or a cable turtle for winding up the excess cord. Anyone know where to get in sg and what price? I saw on headfi that theory_87 have one...
  16. IEM is um1, cuz its the only one I own. Headphones is K81dj which I'll be getting next week! Yeah, I'm pretty new to this scene too...
  17. Eii, where is the download button for the edifier speaker tool? I click the 下载 测速 then it just direct to the top of the page. My chinese really sucks a$$...
  18. How's the soundstage on the k81s?
  19. Wonder how the K81DJ sound in comparison to the PX100... The bass is supposed to be almost DT770 level...
  20. Love my um1s, they made me discover the basshead in me so now I'm getting some full-size cans for some real SLAM!
  21. Not factoring the isolation, which is not important to me as I use UM1s when I'm out and about, which cans (MS1, K81DJ) sound better for the type of music I listen to (chill, electronica, DnB plus a lil' rock)?
  22. That's with an amp rite? I'm using the resistors unamped. Its really a poor man's solution
  23. What's white noise, pink noise, sweeps etc etc?
  24. I would really love to pop in and audition all these cans, but I'm currently studying in KL, on my final sem, and popping in means a 6 hour trip each way at least. So the best I can do now is find the most widely-regarded cans in my budget and get my sis to pick them up for me since she's still in Sg studying at NTU. Sigh, the life of a broke college boy...
