  1. Great information reads you got for us, Scanfiend. Thanks. I second joi-ful's suggestion to make it a Sticky... as now only understand bits of it, and they are certainly useful to be re-visited when more experiences gained thro more audio equipments tried and more listening sessions. Looking forward to Top-Gun's contributions. Cheers.
  2. Hi Clemo & Proton, I can meet at Admiralty too if that's easier, just let me know the time and place. Whatever the arrangement you both make... whether all @ Admiralty or few thro Proton at Boon Keng or Kallang... I will thankfully co-operate. just call or sms me @ my mobile so that I will be there. Cheers.
  3. Hi, saw that some friends here looking for these players too. I just bought 720 there. The 820 costs SGD249 , 720 @ SGD159. They only have the silver 820 and the white/silver 720. Not sure if the other Best stores got them? Just want to highlight the sales outlet to friends looking for these players. Cheers.
  4. Hi, yes you can still see the Made in Japan SL-CT820 & SL-CT 720 at Best Denki (Tampines Century Square) selling @ SGD249 & 159 respectively. They only have the silver colour for the 820 and the white/silver colour for the 720. The difference is that the 820 can play WMA & Highmat... as according to the salesguy. And of course 820 looks sleeker. If they had the Black 820, I probably might have paid $90 more. I got the 720 as I just wanted something convenient to play the CDs I buy immediately, and some MP3 compilations I put together. Noticed that before every MP3 track plays, there is a certain processing hiss.. probably that is the Digital Remastering thing doing its job. But I love the clarity of the tracks played... it does not need the volume to be loud to hear the music, matches very well with the Sennheiser PX100 & MX500 I use. By the way, I did called Clementi Electronic Centre but they don't have the 2 models already, and Harry (salesguy there) checked that the new 830 does not have lineout.
  5. Ya, the webby still shown the same status in chaoyang... sure hope nothing wrong, and can get our hands on the amps soon.
  6. Hi clemo, no problem... I believe we all understand and really appreciate you and Haxyer's effort in making this MO possible. I look fwd to meet u and the other guys when get the amp. Cheers.
  7. Hee... old blind me... It was Admiralty station stated by clemo... I must get my eyes, or maybe my brain checked.
  8. To collect at Aljunied's fine too, whichever earliest. Just waiting to try this "first" amp. Wondering whether to go for the LDM2 + if got new MO... and which pair of headphone to get next, now that I am still on mine old trusted Senn HD495 Silver.
  9. Hi I am staying @ Tampines too, would be good if can collect nearer.

  11. Hi HippingHippo, U got pm and look fwd to meeting u for the deal.
  12. Ya, I would forsee getting better amps (read loads about LD2+ and very interested @it's price... but exposed tubes not very convenient in myhome, and read that the tubes may need to be replaced, and diff to find alternatives??. Maybe Little Country or other amps fit my needs better?) Good to know tt meantime b4 I get better amp, can still enjoy a Beyer with LDM+ std amp. Ok, advices taken, will want to go chk out the Beyers and now started saving up for one. Mine ears also quite deaf, maybe when in army heard too much of live firings and ammo testings. Looking fwd to meeting some of you when I visits Jaben and maybe SE too... CWP is so far for me from Tampines.
  13. Ya, understand Kai's concern as I also think same too... appreciate if can confirm all of us who paid, perhaps with or as an update of the MO? If anyone not paid yet, we know who's holding everyone up, and it can just act as a chaser for a dateline to observe, I would think that's fair for all of us who paid. Like brother zonalblitz_audio said, if any 1 backed up, he knows someone who can take over. Just my humble opinion.
  14. Hi ralli`fto, happy that u got such a beautiful looking and sounding set of cans... very tempted from Mackie's and your reviews to go test them out at Jaben some time soon. Thanks a lot. So a LDM+ can run it ok? I 'm getting one from the 3rd MO soon... hahaha. Me first headphone amp. And will get a suitable IC to do them some justice. May I know how ex was the AKG K701 price as u mention cost as the reason. Hope to find some funding for this impending damage. Now I really get the picture of members repeatedly said "to beware of wallets and encourage each other to spend money." ... guess i'm hooked already. S$499 for steel venetian blinds by me ears! Cheers.
  15. Hi clemo, As requested, I have sent email to u & attached pic of the transaction receipt. Thanks.
  16. Hi haxyer/clemo, Paid @16.11pm thro DBS Tampines C atm. PM sent to clemo with attached image of the transaction recpt (hope the sgheadphone album works...). Thx for your help for this MO. Let us know if got any transport charge. Cheers... can't wait to enjoy the music juices thro the amp.
  17. Thanks clemo for your confirmation, & haxyer to have started the MOs running in the 1st place. Will look fwd to your update.
  18. Hi brothers, Been a music lover since birth, and started my quest when I got my first Yamaha walkman (still fond memories of it) thro saving allowances for a prolong period in the 80s as a Sec school boy. Then after wearing out countless Sony earphones and various sony walkmans... discmans... mp3 players. At least now that I have worked some years, can look to explore this long canned-up pursuit of my own audio nirvana. I am not an audiophile and do not have a lot of budget for now, but I will listen within my means, best I can.
  19. Hi brother zonalblitz_audio, I will check out your recs. Ya, I would prefer to start around 100 SGDs (unless proven the diff really too much for the next better model, quality to price)as I am really exploring this long time nterest in good sounds. Also I would like to start on building a good room system. Any suggestions? Maybe not here huh... I would look at the proper forum page to learn from all the brothers (or sisters, if any). Btw, I have also joined the MO for the LDM+ after yourself, as I trust your stds and from the many recs/reviews. Hope we'll have better final price. And do you think I should get a better inter connect? if so, which/from where?

  21. Wow, Great looking cans u got, and read that it's a very good pair too... if only I got the budget for it ;(... Drooling oredi... Cheers.
  22. Thanks viix, But the In-ear ones are not comforatable to my likings. I used to look for Closed headphones but so far could not hear a good affordble pair yet... any suggestions for brands/models? Moreover, I have read that the use of the portable amps may also prolong the battery life, and to try enhance the power and richness of the sound with my desktop, notebook and other sources. I do not listen long periods loudly, and I do use in-ear sennheiser plugs on public transports. Only nightly luxury listening times would I up the volumes. By the way, any advice on pricings on some of the amps? I only saw the pricings of the 2 Xeno models as stated by SE. Cheers.
  23. Hi, I am newbie here and would appreciate advice and good recommendations to drive my sennheiser headphones as I am quite a loud music/song listener. I usually max most potable players/mini-hifis and sometimes even that may not be enough, if that had not affected the music in the first place. My Senn PX100 still runs mostly ok but my Senn 495 Silver simply dying for more power to drive it. Read about Air Head, Tube and Xenos Amps but not really sure what they can do. May make trip to Jaben or SE to find out more. Cheers.
