  1. Thats what I felt too. I think the hornet abit over kill.
  2. Now Jaben taking pre-orders. Stock coming in next month. Good thing they only collect 50% deposit. So I was thinking of ordering one, since I can take one mth to raise the other 50% But the question, but which? Comes to mind instantly. Hornets are $120 more than the Tomahawk, and I will be using them with UM1 and MS-1s (soon). So I was wondering if the extra money spent is worth it. Furthermore, the hornet's minimum volume is not exactly "minimum" if I use IEMs according to Uncle wilson. I'd have to get the Ety P to S cable that costs a low 3 digit figure to get it. I don't feel that I will be getting a high impedance amp anytime soon as well. But the hornet in reviews have a more "punchy" feel. I have also read that their bass is very similar after hundreds of hours of burning in. The tomahawk is more portable at the same time as well Then again, I am not sure if the extra $120 is worth my money if I get it. I am using an Xtra X-1 Pro btw.
  3. Patience lor... Just try with needle
  4. wah. Not cheap. Really TRIPLEFI har?
  5. I guess it depends on what they have. Where got so swee give you 888 one
  6. I think this is abit the stupid suggestion la, but can you like twist the blue tack you have now into one small extension enough to reach into the UM1 to slowly try to get it out?
  7. Just a question in general. I just bought this interconnect (Its the orange one) like 1 week ago and I already realize the leaving is like coming out from one side of the connector. Hm, are all of them like this or is mine slightly defective piece? Cause this is the first time I got this problem, the last interconnect I had (the one that came with the Xtra X-1 Pro) did not have this problem.
  8. AIYA! I missed this thread. Wasted la. I made a trip down today hoping to get a pair of headphones.. It wrote annual company event on the door...
  9. OMG I went down to SE today and it was closed! Argh wasted trip
  10. OKAY! I decided to go down one of this days this week and try
  11. I was thinking of going down with a list instead of blindly picking lol
  12. What did you buy in the end? I don't really fancy the design of Audio Technica ATH-ES7 and AKG K530. Have also read some bad reviews on AKG K530. I think the better choice is the K81DJ, but I am afraid of the tight grip being a concern. As for the Audio Technica ATH-ANC7, its 320Ohms impedance, I'd probably need an amp to drive this but with me spending an extra $100 on it, it doesn't seem to be worth the shot. Especially when I am running tight on a budget of $200. I was thinking of buying a pair of good decent headphones for $200 first and maybe getting an amp with $100. I dun think I have the extra cash to spend on both...
  13. I dun really like those "clip" types... Just personal preference I guess
  14. I got a dry for my camera and stuff so while not in use for long periods, I chuck them in there. For expensive ones only of course.
  15. SR-125 is open cans right? I think MS-1 is better than this.. The HD-485 looks tempting also. I got the same thoughts for the AKG K81DJ also, abit concerned about the grip and bass, which I would rather have something less bassy and better midrange.
  16. Hm.. read some reviews on it. Looks good on paper. Will add to my list of to-try-out headphones
  17. Yah. I was worrying about that. I will go deaf if I crank up the volume somemore.. and no noise cancelling. Thats why I was thinking about AKG K81DJ. This one is closed cans right?
  18. Yah, its another one of those "Recommend me a headphone" threads. Sorry for having to start this, I think many are already quite bored of seeing these threads, but I would like to make some inquiries. I have read my threads in this forum and am still not able to decide on a pair of earphones to buy, so I would like some opinions and recommendations on some headphones before going down to Jaben's or SE to try. Well, I mainly listen to Chinese pop with the occasional jazz and others. I own a pair of Westone UM1s, but dun really like the feeling of sticking something into my ear. I am looking for something good for day-to-day use on MRT, buses, etc. Preferably comfortable. Doesn't matter if its abit hard to drive as I am looking at an portable amp sometime in the near future when my hole in the pocket mends... Maybe I would sell my UM1s for an amp. I was thinking of the MS1, SR60, SR80 or maybe AKG K-81DJ
  19. lol.... But all depends on ur marketing and workmanship.
  20. $16. I just saw today I bought my pair of UM1s today... With a pair of Ety 6i tri-flanges cause its like $7 cheaper than the Shure ones. Anyways, I am a happy UM1 user ^^
