  2. Hi All, Thanks for the warm welcome for me. And No, I won't ignore newbie here as I'm a OLD Noob too. Haha... as long as I get to mix around with the "new" members here, I'll be getting along well with most of you BTW, I think I just need to get a average headphone to enjoy my music for the moment until I've save enough and decided to get my dream cans. Haha ... And for huangyong, hmm, we shall see, as you know that I'm now back to forum, therefore, it's not hard for you to contact me now Sigh, forgot to tell you that I'm using the A4Tech headset Attach a picture for you all to laugh around [attachmentid=3482] Yeah Mackie and Naz, get a normal cheap one would do, haha, A4Tech serve the purpose... LOL... but afterall it's still a headset, not a pair of nice cans for music though the sound quality is still quite acceptable, not yet satisfying, but still can use to listen to music
  3. oops, Sorry Naz. Have been quite busy with other stuff. Now back on track a bit. Too bad my headphones cups spoilt by my brother when he loaned it for his listening with my pcdp. Gosh. I can hardly lay my hands on them ever since he loaned out that set from me. I think I better save up for another decent cans, darn, that is going to burn another hole in my pocket. Am still looking out for DT series, hehe.. but must save, of course! But not much spare cash, need to go for a lower range. I have my plan and the money need to be spent wisely. Because I had bought a headset for Skype, so I normally listen to music with the laptop as my source. My friend just gave me a pair of JBL PC speakers. JBL Platinum Pro if my memory serves me well enough. But I never use it, the sound quality just ain't any satisfying. Thinking of buying Altec Lansing speakers. Considered new to speakers though I've auditioned some speakers before during the previous SGH meets, as well as Mackie's "Private Studo", hehe... Where has all the old members been to? Hardly see their threads now? I can only see Mackie's posts now. Hmm.... Well, will be here once in a while. Gosh, my ears are very itchy now. They are thirst for music >.<"

  5. Well, yotiao, from my experience, windows-based hosting package under Ensim-based hosting normally give out Invision Powerboard free. So, it would be licensed copy. Having dedicated IP hosting sure cost more, I don't think it's a good idea. Just get a hosting with big enough web space. The hosting can be a shared hosting on the same server. Just make sure the server is not overloaded by the heavy traffic on SGH forum. I've see a heavy site that bring down a hosting server just because the hosting company doesnt know how to put it on another not-so-busy server. They dump every hosting site together and give all of the unlimited or unmetered bandwidth until the server is down more often and received complaints and requests for compensation. For Unix or Linux - based hosting server, normally come with phpBB forum. If you require Invision Powerboard, I would suggest the hosting should be runnng Ensim Windows and not Ensim Unix. Hope these helps?

  11. Not yet, haven't have any idea of which model to go for and also, haven't made a trip down yet. Looking for nice pcdp with good outlook as well I also haven't have enough funding for it yet. Currently is busy with projects on hand. Never ending projects coming towards me, like seawaves that keep coming towards me. Keep dragging me deeper and deeper until i'm drowned under the sea...pathetic man..sigh
  12. Hi Mackie, Yup, i finf that i love Jade Gift Shop too. What a nice place to be. I prefer to go there than Sim Lim Square now Thanks for your input Cheers
  13. Just bought Beautiful moments 2 and Jimmy Chan piano's collection. Nice nice...too bad dun have picture to share with u all here can't find any i think..tried my best
  14. Hi Evo, Yes, long time no see How's life going on? Feeling good? As for the pcdp, I'm not intend to use an amplifier with the portable setup, therefore I normally would only use it on public transport and while walking from places to places. Hence, I would like to buy a pcdp with decent sounding and average and acceptable isolation (optional). So what would you recommend for me? Can anyone help me to list out the list of recommended models as well?
  15. wuhoo...so many suggestion, but what model should i try?hmm....
  16. Hmm, good points here Mackie, then I shall get a pcdp instead. Ok, which model you recommend? I have no prior experience in choosing a nice and decent pcdp. Panasonic? Will give it a try, my fren have one...sound quality not that bad...but his one a bit ex. now the price drop already, might due to the exixtence of mp3 players which take away a big piece of cake from portable audio world am i rite to make that sweep statement?hehe...but one thing is true, that is the mp3 player is really a mobile source and can store a lot of mp3..whereas pcdp only cna play one Cd at one time
  17. av98m: wah seh...tank pcdp sia...really bulky and strongbuilt Northen Oak: Panasonic's RP-HJE50 is still selling outside?do u recommend a mp3 player? Mackie, Rameish: I'm thinking of getting either a pcdp or mp3 player, since i travel quite a lot then sound quality doesnt matter that much?so how r ur opinions and suggestions? drooling, but need to waiit until i get my pay then just can make a purchase man
  18. My portable source not necessarily a mp3 based player. I prefer those that is durable, long battery life as i'm always outside. Of coz a mp3 player would be nice. must be slim and light, if can, small in size too. Bbut i dun mind a pcdp if the sound quality is good enough. my budget is around 200 bucks..any good recommendation?
  19. Hi All, It has been quite a long time I never step into this forum. Have been hunting for job. Now everything is settled down and have a bit of free time. Therefore, I start thinking of upgrading my rigs. First and foremost, let me tell you my story here first. My work require me to travel a lot and therefore I felt bored during long journey from one place to another place. It's a good habit if I can read in the train or bus, but nah..I'm not really used to read on train or bus. I would prefer music listening more. Thus, the first thing I want to buy is a pcdp, but then if I want a pcdp, it's not really convenient for me to play MP3 as I need to burn all my MP3 onto a CD-R or CD-RW, which is quite a tedioous work for me. Though most of the PCDPs and MP3 players are now equipped with AM/FM radio receiver, but normally the sound quality would be affected a bit or the reception not that good (at least I felt that it's true). Then, I almost give up and want to try a CDp, but then it will incurred some more money. I need to add on much more to the money that I set aside for my pcdpp or mp3 player. Here come the problem, if I intend to buy a CDP, then with my current cans, it would be a no-no to me, I might as well upgrade my cans first. So, in the end, I have more or less decided to have a upgrade for my headphones first. The reason why I post a topic here is to gather as much valuable opinions as I can, so that I know which thing I should get it first, and which can be wait until next upgrade. Any suggestion to me? Thanks a lot. regards, Mychew
  20. I can never survive with a line out as it's way too soft, the music coming out from it is unamped. But unfortunately, with the pcdp I have now, the head out is definitely a no-no for me, therefore it's not suitable to use it for portability. I have to force it to be home-used source. I had that but no choice
  21. ok...thanks for the clarification
  22. Hi Gouki, my friend wish to ask how many different HD 570 model are there?symphony and what else?or only symphony? hope tp clarify with u. thanks...
