  1. I got my SR80 from Stereo Electronics at Causeway Point too and it is a good place to try out your desired headphones before committing to the right one. To cut down your SR60 bass, you can also consider switching to the bowl pad of the SR80 which will also improves the details slightly and tighten the bass. Good luck & thanks Aron for the kind inputs again and one day got to buy him a coffee when i dropby the shop Marcus
  2. Dear Aron Thanks for the detailed demonstration for the mod. I do have a pair of ear pad taken from SIA flight . I wonder whether this mod will dampen the details of the SR80 but will still give it a try. My previous experience in changing the bowl pad to the flat pad is that the bass is bloomy but details is dampened. Interesting to see whether putting the bowl pad over the flat pad will enhance back the details, if so then we already strike gold Nevertheless many thanks for your advices. Will try qunnex cable later...in fact i do have spare qunnex silver anniversary from my previous hifi set up ke ke
  3. Dear Aron, Can you kindly advised wat are the mod option available for SR80 in term of improving the sound stage & bass extension enhancement? Is it better to mod the SR80 or MS-1 to get greater musicality? Your inputs are greatly appreciated. Marc
  4. Better go for the SR60 than the iGrado. PX200 vocal is good but bass lack slam...
  5. Hi afbug Can the k800i be used with another headphone like MylarOne IEM other than the proprietary Sony Ericsson Headset?? i own a K700! & a newer K618i and both does not come with a 35mm headphone jack for use with another headphone.. Is W810i better SQ than the K series since it is a true sony walkman phone??
  6. Well both sennheiser and grado had different sound characteristics and i would use the grado for less serious listening like the MP3 or Radio while retain the HD555 for music coming from the CDP & int Amp. Senn also better suited for jazz & vocal while the grado for rock & pop.
  7. If you are keen can check out headphonehaven.com which is another good forum site for newbies... I totally agreed with warsurfer that MylarOne is indeed a good IEM unbeatable for the current price but with some problems with regards to driver failure unfortunately Good luck in your headphone hunt... Marc
  8. I do agree that the SR80 may sound more aggressive with the shrill highs but it does rip out details well so it is good for instrumental, new age & vocal. However the low slam is not strong so for new orchestrals & slow rock, it may lack excitements. Guess MS-1 may be the way to go...
  9. Ha ha thanks well you are our foreign talent so shb be better off than most of us... Marc
  10. Hi Singapura Wat are you replacing the MS-1 with?? MS-2! Why did you sell it? Marc
  11. Hi Rameish, i agreed the MBD staffs are friendly and i will go back to get the Grado from them if i decide to own one pair myself.
  12. Well sennheiser still not as bad as compared to Grado... Bad customer service too by the oversea agent which dont offer to reply to Email and no intentional warranty. Tat's why i boycott them for the time being until they wake up their ideas Marc
  13. Well i got the MylarOne on eve of lunar new year and it is still burning in. So far only the smallest biflange can fit my ear since the mid size seem to drop out when i try to squeeze it in. Any others had such problem? Is it better to get the foam type? I found the MylarOne quite balanced and will not appeal to those who want bloomy bass. I am still waiting for my Grado!! Cheers Marc
  14. Hi nakedtoes, Do MBD carries Alessando series as well?? I only know that they are the dealer for Grado. For warranty issue do we send the phone to them or is there another agent in Singapore that service Grado phone? I am very disappointed with the Grado Main Agent in US since they are very unprofessional in answering my email without giving proper advise on which agent in Singapore to service Grado phone. Is there only two dealers (Stereo & MBD) in Singapore in Singapore for Grado? Senn is definitely much better when comes to customer service and i had no regrets owning two of their headphone, namely HD485 & HD555. Marc
  15. Hi nakedtoes if MS-1 is suitable for wider range of music, then how about SR60?? I noted that the SR80 is better in the bass but also more bright as compare to SR60. I also noticed that MS-1 is harder to drive than SR60 MARC
