  1. Patience guys and girls. Trust me, this will really be something special
  2. By coincidence, I'm setting up something that may blow your mind (and ears away). Full customization of any IEM with detachable cables at a very low price. They're working at a sample right now. Watch the forums...

I was just mentioning the old thread from [J]-ohn ***MOD EDIT*** As much as I hate to be a party pooper, it is my duty to say, "Gentlemen, no discussions allowed in sgheadphones Classified forum." Sorry. heady
  4. According to the classified "rules": "Please limit all discussions to product details such as age, condition, warranty, accessories included, etc." So far I've only seen valid questions. How about answering them?
  5. Is there an option to get it fully assembled? I'm not the handiest person in the world with a soldering iron. On the other hand, it looks like the PCB is already populated? If so, count me in. Will be back in Singapore on 15th of Jan.
  6. Jaben is a specialised headphone and IEM shop at Adelphi, opposite Funan Center. The problem with custom IEM's is that you can't try them out properly because they are made for your ears only. If you don't like the sound, you can't sell them for the same reason. I wouldn't go for the Shures immediately and certainly not for customs if I were you because you'll miss the journey towards audio Nirvana Price doesn't always mean quality and it certainly doesn't guarantee audio bliss. I started out with Sony "earbuds" and went from UE Superfi EB's to Crossroads and ended up with Shure E500's. I still listen to the Crossroads though, even if they cost 10 times less. It all depends on my mood (and the weather...)
  7. What do you mean "when not in use"?
  8. Try Jaben in Adelphi. They sell a range of customs and can also make your impressions. The issue with customs is that you can't audition them and if you don't like them you can't return or sell them.
  9. Good to see this old thread is still alive! There are still queues for the free newspapers, now even in Bugis
  10. I've owned both and still own the Portapro's. The bass and details are better although the PX100 are more comfortable. You should try before you buy!
  11. The AE-2 has tighter bass and sounds more relaxed then the predator. The i-Qube is still brighter and faster. Both are high-end amps. Just audition them and make your choice
  12. This might be something: http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/circ/hv/hvcap/hvcap.html A bit large for portable use though This one is a bit smaller: http://www.hanssummers.com/radio/homebrew/...citor/index.htm
  13. Go for a high quality amp because the SE530's are very detailed. I use an Headamp AE2 for my E500's after trying various other ones (including the iBasso).
  14. I just got a shipment of docks in. Bought them from http://home.swipnet.se/ridax/connector.htm
  15. Yes, they're as fake as a $6 bill. I bought some, complained on eBay but the guy keeps turning up under different names. Sound is still nice enough for my DS but that's about it.
  16. Now that's what I call IEM pr0n! For 649 pounds I would ceratinly expect the best IEM's ever.
  17. I'm afraid you won't hear much difference between 320 kbps MP3 and FLAC encoded files, even with your UE10's. Certainly not enough to justify sending your collection overseas. You may even run into trouble at US customs when they see your collection because lately they've been checking CD's for hidden information or IP right violations. If you're really concerned, you might want to hire someone to do the ripping for you but I wouldn't do it if I were you.
  18. For that money you better audition them yourself. Otherwise it's like asking what the best pizza for $15 is. Depends on your taste.
  19. Jaben at Adelphi do a very good job. They specialize in impressions for custom IEM's
  20. Mozart, Requiem Tchaikovski, Violin concerto in D major D35 Howard Shore, Lord of the Rings 1,2 and 3 Bach, Goldberg variations by Glenn Gould
  21. Koss Portapro's are suprising value for money. After a good burn in they have tight bass, good mids and clear highs as well as details. I use them with my laptop.
  22. I'm happy with the setup I have now although I still would like a pair of custom IEM's. I agree that nothing beats the real thing but that would mean moving to for instance Vienna where you can go to a concert every evening. The next best thing is improving on the recordings (I haven't gotten into vinyl...yet) and the source. If you get bored, just take a break and get back later. Anyway, if you read the fora about football or other sports, they go on for years and keep revolving around the same themes too.
  23. I don't know what you did with your Mylars but I still have my first pair (actually I have three pairs for gaming purposes) and they are fine. SQ wise they are the best you can buy for the money. I like the Koss Portapro headphones as well for use with my laptop.
  24. Why would you by a Bose in the first place? Lots of better products around for less money.
