  1. Nicely balanced and well thought out criticism ezzo Are we now going from Jaben bashing to jaben.net bashing? If you think that forum is lame why not suggest improvements? Why do we need three forums on the same subject in a small country like Singapore?
  2. People lets put a lock on this thread. This has nothing to do with us. If you run a shop, you run the risk of unhappy customers and have the joy of happy ones. No cover up or conspiracy theories please. Lets leave it at that.
  3. Maybe the Sennheiser service center can help you? I head the same problem with my HD 650 which turned out to be a loose driver. Don't know about the construction of the HE60 but it won't hurt to check I guess.
  4. How would you like it if someone would have an issue with you or your work and went to your own forum and complain without even checking with you? Anyway, most if not all forums don't tolerate complaints about their sponsors. This is not coverup, it's just plain business sense. Jaben has built one of the best reputations in the business and I can understand that they want to protect it.
  5. The Cardas works great with the HD650's. Tried both the Zu and Cardas and kept the latter. Zu is a bit darker imho which I didn't want with the already creamy sound of the Senns.
  6. For desktop amp the Spark (Cayin) HA1A is very good for the price. I currently use a portable Xin Supermacro III which has a very rich, smooth sound as well and can drive your cans withn ease.
  7. Expect the new&improved back tattoo soon...
  8. I should change it because I just bought a pair of Shure E500's . Still love the Mylars though. Anyway, I wouldn't be so dumb to tattoo this on my back, no matter how much I love the Mylars A wonder what you can do these days with computers
  9. This week a large container with all my audio equipment will arrive from Holland. I won't be needing my Meng Yue tube amp that I bough last February! As stated before, I'm willing to trade for an AE-2, Tomahawk or Hornet. This amplifier has no headphone jack, it drives speakers beautifully though. Description of Item Input Power : 240V Power : 15 watts x 2 in Class A Push and Pull circuit design Output Tube : EL84 / 6P14 x 4 Driver Tube : 6N3 Ohms : 4 ohms and 8 ohms Frequency : 10Hz-70KHz +/-3 dB Signal/Noise Ratio : 90dB Distortion : Less than 1% at full power Input Jack : 2 groups Input Consumption : <80w Weight : 11kg Size Dimension : Width 260mm Height 140mm Depth 210mm Condition : as new Warranty : untill February 2008 Selling price : $ 450 Preferred Location : My place Preferred Mode of Contact : PM Images can be found here.
  10. For soldering you might want to try Sim Lim Towers. Lot's of electronics shops there.
  11. If you really want to go bassy splurge on a UE Super.fi 5 EB. If that's not bassy enough you need an ear transplant
  12. I've decided to sell my home rig because portable is for me the only way to enjoy my music. I'm probably going to regret this but so be it Headphone: Sennheiser HD 650 in pristine condition. The ultimate Sennheiser under $15,000! The box is a bit scratched because it's cheap cardboard. The cans themselves are perfect and come with the stockcable and a large-to-small jack converter. Cable: Cardas. This after market cable not only makes the wellknown "veil" disappear but keeps the warm and buttersmooth sound of the HD650 intact. Amplifier: Cayin (Sparks) HA-1A. The perfect match for the best (affordable) headphone on the market. This tube amp has been equiped with Mullard tubes and has a ultra lineair/triode switch. See the Review I only want to sell this as a set unless you have an Headamp AE-2 (green) Hornet or Tomahawk to trade. I will throw in a brand new DVD player (Phillips) in an unopened box. Fixed price: SOLD
  13. If you can't find them in Singapore, you can always have Amazon ship them via V-post. This service by Singapore Post gives an US address to ship to and forwards the package (for a fee).
  14. With a 1k budget you'll have plenty of choice. I use an Cardas cabled HD650 with a Cayin HA-1A at home, which gives exactly the kind of sound that you describe. My portable rig are the Crossroads Mylar ONe X3 and the iBasso T1 (which I'm going to replace pretty soon).
  15. The UM1 sounds to me like the Mylar One Classic. The Mylar ONe X3 is way beyond that. Off course that's just my humble opnion. Come to Jaben this Friday evening and find out at the party!
  16. I like the Eclipse mints, they almost as good as the highly illegal substance called chewing gum . The tin is nice too.
  17. Did you look ar the blog? There is a link "shopping with Jaben" that answers all your questions.
  18. Try a search on "0404". There's plenty of postings.
  19. It's very commendable that you guys put so much serious work into it. I can't wait to try this mod
  20. Since it's bone conducting you could plug your ears and still hear the sound. It might be the ultimate isolation!
  21. Try the iBasso T1 or the Minibox D. They can drive cans with ease (the iBasso drove my HD650).
  22. I would very much like to review it but I haven't had the opportunity yet.
