  1. 6.50usd to vpost 18sgd to spore
  2. wanted to suggest this but it's more than his budget?
  3. nope. coz it plays awesome outta the headout and needs no amping with most IEMs. just use the headout if u wanna amp it. the ability to be infinitely expandable, the 52hr batt life, and the ability to play FLAC natively, makes this a no-brainer of a decision. no more carrying around external amps as luggage, the true meaning of portable! and now to add either the UE11 or Futuresonics Customs to the system.
  4. tiny as in the Eee PC. http://sg.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=24&l2=...005&modelmenu=1
  5. just got mine shipped via vpost from amazon. 230usd only, making it almost criminal to sell the 4gb version locally for almost 300sgd. add the Adata 16gb sdhc for around 100sgd, and u have an awesome 32gb space for your FLAC collection. no more hard drive spinning!
  6. the 600ohms version is for broadcast use where they have dedicated amping for the hard to drive impedance. for consumer use, the HD25-1 is far more practical.
  7. minimize the noise and playback using FLAC. it's as good as it gets.
  8. for way below the 160sgd budget, go for the Senn HD201. good sealed isolation from the circumaural fit, easy to drive plus light enough for portable use. u get some loose change on top of that.
  9. wow the E5C! this has gotta be the highest impedance iem around. nice to hear the good match without amping.
  10. or forego the amp, just match the Shures with a high-quality player like Cowon D2.
  11. spot on, the distortion at low bitrates is damm irritating. that's why i rip lossless FLAC even for trance, u can feel the deep bass details without the muttering distortion.
  12. well done mate! let us know how it sounds.
  13. then it's easy. get the HD25. the ESW dun isolate well.
  14. top notch closed can would be Ultrasone Ed9, Denon D5000, JVC DX1000 or AT W5000. but all these are more for home or studio use. the ESW would make one of the better portable closed cans, together with Senn HD25 & Denon D1000 or the likes.
  15. yes a basshead will appreciate the fact that he can get bass volume with details.
  16. i think if u own the D2000, after listening to it, u would still wanna amp it to maximize the potential. no need for a full-fledge desktop amp just get a good solid-state portable amp with some aggression like Ray Samuels to pair with it. the vocals will be pushed slightly to the front, helps a lot with r&b soul tracks and tames the bass bloat u get without amping. i'm using the Hornet with it. yeah farle has it, though i've seen it at audio house. perfect with hippity-hop, i'm bouncing to Lupe Fiasco as i type. reminds me of the good 'ol Cali phat bass that JBL's are famous for. also perfect with any kinda ROCK, especially metal with double-bass pedals on drums. Slipknot never sounded better.
  17. i use to have the dt150 and it's better than the 770pro. more balanced in the mids without the bass being overpowering. the denon trumps both beyers in bass detail and soundstaging. u can feel the texture of the bass and makes you appreciate how much bass info there is in recorded music. amazing rhythmic qualities as well. overall a more fun experience with the denon. but the denon's bass might be too much for jazz or classical. in any other genre, it's my main can. another thing, the beyers are more solidly made, while denons have a nasty repute of the screws in the driver housing coming loose. i hope they've fixed that in newer batches but i fixed mine permanently with Locktite.
  18. yes it is. but as with most other cans, they always sound better amped.
  19. how much was the cx300? let's hear for a higher budget to consider an upgrade.

    OVC T50!

seems like Mainland still got a long way to go for reliability.
  21. tats what happens when they do study CS, so that they can slim shady most consumers. it's called gigabyte shaving. 5% is like 2GB shaved for their Zen 32GB. what a hoodwink!
  22. in tat case, the Pico will be the ultimate all-rounder.
