mimi, do you have a chance to try ne5532 for buffer? my ne5532 came as stock buffer for my D1.. happen to take it out and give it a try.. quite a good buffer imo...

i did my own cable with cardas connector and solid core copper(i know.. but since i'm not gonna shift it around that often.. i will do by with it..).. wow... treble extension is now better compared to stock... still burning in.. :-)

try changing your usb cable.. it fix this problem for me..

For D1 owners who experience random d/c when useing usb from your pc... the problem lays with the stock usb cable supplied with the D1.. this has been discussed before at http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f5/ibasso-d1...779/index2.html the solution is to use another usb cable.. no need to look for those with beads as bead itself will affect the performance of usb 2.0(but not usb 1.1 or 1.0)

guess different gears will respond differently... i just did a comparison useing hd650 with ibasso D1 and two laptops side by side there is a difference between vista audio and xp audio(both through asio4all)... but this time it sounds more muddy/warmer on vista with my 650. the test i did include using asio4all for both xp and vista.. do note that i did not test using direct sound... p.s. using different asio drivers on xp will also give different audio quality.... next test i will do is to use a bit-perfect output soundcard (my x-fi, waiting for a processor and motherboard transplant first), with/and without a ssrc resampler to up sample to 96khz and feed it to my D1 through spdif, vs laptop(xp) usb out... wonder how will it sound..

anyone tried aps V3? so far i haven't come across a review between zu and aps v3... aps seems to be a highlight at the moment in head-fi..
