  1. it's been awhile since i bought the ex90 but it's still improving. past 2 weeks felt the bass to be opening up. sweet sweet bass... beautiful... when first bought, i was still listening alongside the cx300, each good in its area (means the pricier ex90 doesn't seem to be too fantastic over the cx300). but now, i dun even feel like listening to the cx300 anymore. the gap has widened. the sound reproduction from the sony is so smooth and neutral (to the warmer side) that i just wouldn't get tired listening to it. pairing with the sony 616 player. classic sony sound signature? luv it...
  2. have your tried a bigger rubber bud? using the wrong size bud can mean totally bass-less vs sweeeeet.
  3. waa dug up a 2yr old thread hehe... anyway by now ex90 aredy available from stereo. bought mine month+ ago. i think i should be one of the very few users here ba... most pple should be with the trend using those UMs, Super FIs etc. i for one thought that the UM1 sounded quite sucky...
  4. if you are looking for in-ear monitors, can consider creative ep-630 for ~$45. or go to hung bro at simlim sq see if their sennheiser cx300 is still going for $75. if it is, then imo it's the best buy under $100. usual price for cx300 should be around $109 at stereo@causewaypt.
  5. currently using sony ex90, bought around the same time as the player...
  6. huh... so ex one ah... hmm... maybe will put on hold for the time being ba... have already spent some effort and money on the player and earphones liao, not very willing to invest so much on an auxilliary "non-critical" component. i think for under 200 range, ex90 would be my choice liao. if want better, probably gotta break 300, and even 200+ i would rather go for cans, but that will come later la. 200+ for player, 100+ for earphones.. i guess that's quite enough for casual listening for now since it's not my main mode of music in the 1st place. but will still keep my options open lol...
  7. thanks... b4 i go, just to chk.. wats the damage like for say ibasso?
  8. i'm a noob to portable players... just recently got the 616. can this be paired with any portable amps? any options for sound improvement without changing the obvious (player/earphones)? if can add amp, which will be a decent match for this combo? and price?
  9. same sentiments... i had great anticipation for the um1 when i was shopping for alternatives to my cx300 (cos cx300 is too "in-ear" liao... no good for outdoor movement). the moment i press "play" with the um1, i almost puked. i even suspected my ears and keep adjusting and play over and over to confirm. can't imagine why so many pple are raving about it. but well, sound is subjective. anyway i dun have any that's-surely-the-one recommendation since my budget is 100+ only. in the end i settled for sony ex90 for $149. sound quality wins cx300 for sure. for this price range to me it has the best balanced and comfortable sound which is not tiring over prolonged listening. the fit is superb and is not as "in-eared" than cx300, so expect a bit of ambient noise.
