I would advise against thinking of using D2000 in a portable setup. I actually tried, and D2000 design is simply too thick, and the long coil of cable isn't going to make things easier too. D2000 doesn't block noise very well too. Isolation-wise, your willingness to use a full-size can, and based on your budget, you may want to check out Shure 840, available at Stereo.

Are you looking for portable headphones or home headphones? If you are looking at the ES55, you might want to consider the ES7, ESW9. Or even the ESW10 and ES10 if your budget allows.

That has eased me quite a fair bit, as I've yet to really venture into the CDP path. Being short of physical space, CDs and cold hard cash. Hence I've decided to freeze developments on my equipments and simply enjoy what I have currently. Though now I'm curious in how my DacMagic stacks up to the Stello DAC. Hmmmmm....

I find the lack of any mention to iGrado quite surprising, especially when rock music is mentioned. I personally used it during commuting as well, and only found them to be leaking too much when in a quiet room/place, like a library.

Heh, am pretty envious with all the upgrades going on around here as well. Missed out all those audition moments as I'm pretty much swamped with assignments current. *Sigh* Though less auditioning means less chance I would be tempted to buy. I'm still abit itching to auditioning the CD900ST and RS1 again.

I would recommend the iGrado. Great musicality and clarity in general, and looks good. The street-wear design is great for people nowadays who doesn't want to mess up with their hairstyles with headphones that presses on the head. Can be found below $80, but sadly Stereo doesn't seems to have stock of it anymore, Jaben on the other hand has stocks of it.

I'll say the Graham Slee Voyager gets my vote. Have that with me and not turning back. Gives all those bass-light headphones and IEMs a second chance to suit my tastes. In short, the ideal amplifier for me, other than the looks and size.

Pioneer PD-F25 Gotten the black version for $30. Pretty old unit, manufactured in '96. Still functioning pretty good, and the ability to hold 25 discs is a pretty good convenience to me.

In the process of going to the fella's house to test the CDP before making my decision....
