  1. What sort of bass do you like? A subwoofer would definitely help if you like bass that you can feel, but there's no subwoofer out from the T40. Have you tried boosting the bass using the front knob? If that's not enough, why not try using a software equaliser as well?
  2. Attendee 1. PPkiller - Modded Ibasso D1, HD650 2. mimi- Ibasso D1, K601, maybe K400 3. Dle4e_2005 - Ibasso D2 , DT880 / ER4s 4. lengcm - Shure E530, Hd600 5. 6. 7. 8.
  3. Sure, but if it isn't this weekend, then I'll only be free after mid Jun 08. Perhaps might be better to start a new thread on this to gauge interest.
  4. Glad to see fellow classical music lovers here, if anyone is interested, you can download free recordings of live classical music performances from the Gardner Museum at the following links: http://www.gardnermuseum.org/music/podcast/theconcert.asp http://www.gardnermuseum.org/music/library.asp Lots of variety and new recordings are uploaded every 2-4 weeks.
  5. PPkiller, check pm. Would be interested to get your observations for the ths4032 using that track.
  6. PPkiller, ths4032 with bypass sounds closer, yet still has wider soundstage? Anyway, did you guys manage to download the organ track we used to test? Let me know if you need the download link
  7. LT1364 doesn't work for DAC, music breaks up for complex passages. PPkiller, possible to get the lt6241 from u?
  8. yup, thanks for the meet up chaps.. Largely agree with the observations made. Based on the brief listenings, the AD797 had a much tighter bass compared to the OPA627 in L/R. For DAC, the LTC6241 was more laid back and less forward compared to the ADA4841-2. Trying the LT1364 in the DAC right now, quite promising, will update.
  9. I'm ok with this Sat. Would prefer venue to be more central, but BTC is ok. Opamps that I can bring: LMH6643s, AD8397s, AD743s, AD8656, ADA4841-2, LME49720s
  10. IMO, the LMH6433 is more neutral while the AD8656 is more tube-like, warm and bassy. Soundstage with the LMH6643 was perhaps just a tad wider.
  11. Anyone tried the LMH6643 in the DAC? I found it to be brighter/more clarity as compared to the AD8656. Right now my config is LMH6643 -> ADA4841-2 -> buffers bypassed. Is there still interest in a mini meetup of D1s? Would be a gd opportunity to listen and compare the different op-amps rolled.
  12. DAC > AD8656 L/R > ADA4841-2 (neutral and detailed) Buffers > LME49720 (slightly warm, prefer these to the AD8397s which although energetic, was too mid/bass heavy for my liking) All impressions based on my v1 D1, using flacs, 192 - 320kbps mp3s via K601. WatCult, do you have spare LMH6643s soldered to DIP adaptors? Interested to try.
  13. Oldboy, pls check pm

  20. interested too, pls pm price, thanks
  21. Took the plunge and bought PX200 from the outlet at Shaw Towers, price is still $85 after bargaining. Call me a closed fan, so far impressions are favourable, prefer the less boomy bass as compared to my KSC 35, but hoping the highs will open up more after burning in. Silly newbie qn: fellow PX200 owners, when packing the headphones into the case, do you have to extend one side of the headphones by 2 clicks inorder to close the case?
