if ur using an mp3 player i dont think u need a dac unless you are using with speakers or a separate amp via pc or something an amp is just to amplify the signal by increasing the power output but some amps colour/change the sound and the answer is that it may change the sound, better or worst would depend on the synergy and your personal taste in sound signatures
