  1. Started I remember when I was in like Sec 2 (yr 2001). I craved for better quality music playback and went to buy my first headphone the Sennheiser eH2270. Then I started reading head-fi and they said the beyer dt150-80 was way better. So I sold my eH to a friend and bought the beyer. Not long after I sold again for the DT770. After that kept buying and went deeper into the hifi hole.. lucky now I am not really obsessed .. have been able to stay contented with just what I have .. old sony mdr-e888 modified bud
  2. Hi fongalv, bulb mode means I must be in Manual, so u get to set ur aperture yesterday I had to open at least 25 seconds to get decent exposure because I used really small F18 to get thinner fireworks trail
  3. using Nikon D70 yeah digicam nowadays are pretty good, and many have decent movie mode to go too . I like the kite flying .. nice!
  4. U have some very nice pictures gongalv *thumbsup* from tonight: 56sec bulb mode exposure Posted the whole fireworks 2006 series at CS: http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=215592
  5. my fav: Dragon Ball, Doraemon, Tekken Chinmi
  6. fongalv: your location is very good.. how do u get there? yea tripod is very impt for fireworks
  7. had a very enjoyable evening of fireworks by Team New Caledonia. The best so far IMO in this year's Singapore Fireworks Festival 2006. Miscalculated the height of the fireworks and initial and some finale shot(too high) were cropped off abruptly in my frame . Nevertheless here it is for those who missed it.. and today(Saturday) will be the last performance - by the French team. Hopefully they can show the same entertaining performance that the Team New Caledonia gave.
  8. From yesterday night's .. 8th August 2006 Team Singapore felt that it was too smoky and the water spitting on my lens worsened the situation :/ . Nevertheless... <Watching the Fireworks> will try a different location next rd.. kinda sick with merlion spot
  9. Thanks Muse. glad u like it welcome zhapchit! do share with us more pictures ^^ Nice pic there you took. good composition and reflection. the b/w works well for this too.

  12. Reviving this thread, a shot from last night Singapore Fireworks Festival 2006 - Team Italy (5th August 2006) anyone going for the next one?8th?11th? pm me maybe we can go together ^^
  13. beautiful shot squalle.. looks almost like advertisement for the headphone
  14. Thank u guys Stereo_Electronics & kross: I took 2 exposure of this shot, to have wider dynamic range.I did my usual post-processing like abit of level, USM, boost the saturation and burning and dodging. The sky was particularly good on that day so there's not much else to PP
  15. taken last sunday at the Summer Palace,Beijing
  16. in digital 17-18mm is not wide enough IMO(though I have to admit they cover better range compared to specialised wide angle, so it depends on which one you shoot more) in digital, for budget go for tokina 12-24 or sigma. can't go wrong with both. I choose the sigma coz I think if I have to go wide might as well go all the way. But I think from 20-24 there is quite abit of difference. with 2 k budget you can comfortably splurge on a nikkor 12-24, though I prefer to go 3rd party and have some surplus for other lens it's all your choice
  17. The JZG entrance ticket costs about $45 dollars. Not too sure of my train tix thou
  18. evil-zen: thanks .. actually it's a single shot on my 10mm lens, just cropped it in panoramic version because I feel the original has too much foreground which is not the interest in this pic bpribadi: based on the exif, I used 1/10 .. which is just safe for me to handheld(I gave up setting up tripod after 1 or 2 shot in Jiuzhaigou, too time consuming given I follow my school's tour ). I think next time must go alone or with a fellow photographer.. tour is too rushed .. though I have not much complaint because I paid a measly $300 bucks for 8 days trip including stay at a 3 star hotel and dinner, transport provided
  19. av98m: well composed mugshot of the lizard!! bpribadi: beautiful play of lines and good lighting.. love the palm leaf!
  20. not too sure abt CaptureOne . Btw how do you guys DSLR users get rid of those 'dots' visible when shooting small apertures .. is getting on my nerve. Now in Beijing, won't be able to visit Nikon to do clean up. When I tried to do DIY cleaning seems that it isn't as effective. Just wondering how do u guys clean ur CCD? I still think $25 for every visit is quite expensive just to have the specks removed hmm.. btw just one pic from me here in Beijing..
  21. wow 32ohm DT770!!!! bassfanatic's ultimate portable headphone
  22. thx Q00 ^^ I've been using the Nikon capture. I believe PS CS2 also can do Raw conversion.. but I still stick with Nikon because some programs give slightly different result and I think NEF will be handled optimally by Nikon's program itself yea raw does give much more control over jpeg (still occasionally use jpeg though for informal or those not-so-important shots)
  23. augustine: yea nowadays I mostly shoot in raw .. heady: I used a Hoya R72 for this shot, so there is this IR effect . Perhaps that's what u've been looking for? Thx guys for the comment ^^
  24. very nice moment captured tropicalrips .. haven't been visiting this page for ages.. a pic from my recent capture..
