  1. Hey bro, dun worry man, just go audition urself, musical taste and perception is different for everyone. The Schiit Lyr I havent tried before, but looking at its specs, may be a good bet to drive T1 or other 600ohms phones to very good levels! Heard the Valhalla and Asgard and from memory, the T1 can be driven but I felt they run out of gas to a certain degree and may not have the optimal gain to bring out its full potential. YMMV of course. Why dont u try them out and let us know. If u are testing the Lyr, look out for hum/hiss issues. Similarly, some claim that Meier Audio Concerto can drive the T1 superbly well(on head-fi), but when i tried, i max out the volume and still cant feel the music flow and mind u i only use Nuforce HDP at 2 o'clock when driving the T1, so i dont listen at headbanging levels. Instead of counting on reviews, ur own exp after audition will be the greatest teacher and help u decide firmly regardless of what others say. Many a times, we buy some toy that others praise and end up feeling dissatisfied at the end of the day. As a side note, if you buy the Lyr and dont like it, you can always sell it off to me(haha).
  2. U can also audition Nuforce HDP at audio iconic
  3. Hi snips, For the T1, u may want to try out the LD MKIV SE(since the small price increment may get u better tubes). The Schiit I dun think can drive them well. Alternative is the Bellari HA540..can drive phones up to 2000ohm. T1 being 600ohm is easily driven. It uses a 12AX7 preamp tube. Alternatively, im using Nuforce HDP for T1, this is one little wonder, all in one but it's solid state, not tube, so wont give u that vacuum coloration that u may like. Cheers
  4. I see bro, thanks! Meier Concerto/Stage DAC combo seems sweet. Will consider that. WA6 where are u getting them? US direct or any local distro?

    Audeze LCD 2

Think the winning point is more of local warranty as well, price u can contact the authorized dealers for details. They shld be reasonable after u factor in the shipping and GST etc.
  6. Hi bros, Nice to know we are in the same LCD2 boat I got mine from D&A also, enjoying them now. The Meier Concerto is a musical amp but i find it couldnt drive my T1 to a satisfactory level, thus didnt buy that. Im using Nuforce HDP/LD MKIV SE/Maverick D1 for my LCD2/T1. Eyeing the Yamamoto HA02 but unsure what kinda match i would find. How's the Matrix M stage for the LCD2? The price from cfg is very good if reviews are spot on. Cheers

    Audeze LCD 2

Sound is without a doubt blissful right up there with the big boys eg T1, HD800 (i havent auditioned the HE-6 though so cant give credit to that yet). Presentation is different as you probably have read the numerous reviews and user comments on head-fi. The house sound seems a tad bit darker, which pairs nicely with a warm amp. The bass is best among the three(I own the T1 also and have auditioned the HD800 extensively before). Mids are comparable to the T1 but ahead of HD800. Highs are subjective. I prefer the T1 treble but they fatigue my ears faster than the LCD2(which i feel is just right but can make some treble dependent recording less exciting). The HD800 has peaky highs, ok for 2-3 songs but can get too sizzly for comfort/enjoyment if played longer. However, the HD800 has the best soundstage among the 3(personal opinion). The LCD2 also seems to be the most easily driven cans here but better amps can bring out more from it of course. Im not gonna do a detailed review of any sort, just a quick opinion for helping u get an idea. You can read all the official reviews, most of them are pretty spot on. FYI, u can get the Audeze LCD2 from official local distributor these days in SG. Contact : David Tan (h/p : 98186448), email dnaintl@pacific.net.sg (I got mine from David, nice gentleman) John Woo Order Processing Department D&A International Singapore office Email: dnaintl@pacific.net.sg Contact: +65 9199 1885/ 9818 6448 / 6300 8638 Fax: +65 6234 3364 They carry the latest versions as updated from Audeze website also. Faster than ordering and waiting 2 months from USA IMHO. Get extra local warranty somemore for 12 months, no brainer deal. Anyone interested can contact them via pm. The last time I heard many were being shipped to whole of Asia Pac region, so there may be limited sets on stock. Cheers *disclaimer* im in no way affiliated with Audeze or any of its dealer/distro, just helping out a fellow forumer just as others have helped me by posting relevant replies.
