  1. RS1... RS1...... RS1......... Congrats
  2. Seems Revo can't receive 24bit via kernel streaming, since there are other guys with the same problem. I guess Revo doesn't support 24bit input indeed, and when you use 24bit with waveout, it's dithered to 16bit first and sent to the card Or it may be the problem of driver under 2k... BTW, waveout is old way using in win9x, with reluctant support in win2k/xp, how could it be better than directsound

Thank u ablaze, it's great to have a pro card user here There was a Gina24 ($189) on eBay yesterday, and Carddeluxe has also appeared from time to time... local distributor for Revo? where to find those shops? I have checked SLS and Funan last weekend very carefully, but nothing obtained

Hope you 're not interested in DIY, or you'll got sth else to do for every stuff you bought - modding AMPs, sources, or even headphones and DACs I'm glad you feel "perfect" with you revolution, since I will receive mine two weeks later. However, to be frankly, I not unsatisfied with "it" based on some reviews and comprisons : I am planning to change to Echo MIA or WT2496 even before I get my Revo but anyway, I am playing in a much cheaper way than you, and it's safe for me The man in Hung brothers once asked me: why do you always buy cheap cans? why not some expensive ones? I said
  6. I won't spent $750 on a sound card to drive $200 headphones, or anything else. I am sure Even $300 is too luxurious for me. BTW, is audiophile 2496 an higher level card than the Revolution 7.1? ( $90 .VS. 3-week time + local warranty......)
  7. thanks evil-zen. 4 slots left yet for the M-audio Revolution 7.1 I am waiting for newer price to consider whether to buy... coz I don't care about the volume control ablaze, are there any pro cards available in Singapore?
  8. Thanks. Compared to pro cards, I prefer to spent a little more on headphones These are sound cards under (around) S$100 on hardwarezone: CREATIVE SoundBlaster Audigy (24-bit) DE - S$116 HERCULES (GUILLEMOT) Gamesurround Fortissimo III (7.1pt) - S$88 LEADTEK WinFast 6Xsound 6.1ch -w/Digital SPDIF - S$45 PHILIPS Seimic Edge Edge (5.1pt) Digital - S$118 QUAD X-treme Theater 3D 5.1 ch - S$68 I have experience on none of them. Any suggestions for them to drive dt831?
  9. have sent my DT331 to peak fusion for repairation, and, considering upgrade to 831 now 831 is a good, closed one, but I don't know whether it'll be too harsh on my sound card, a cheap creative. I spend about 9 hours in front of my computer everyday so good and comfort sound is very important to me. Need advice on this and also on good sound card available in Sim Lim. Really thx! Regards, Voxel
  10. Thanks!!! I was listening to Concerto Aranjuez at that time. Seems I have to go out under the terror of SARS:-(
  11. there are no sound from the right side now. maybe something broken, maybe worse... I am decomposing it now, but don't know how to get inside it. Really need help now, thanks!
  12. Is the price $5-8 in SG dollars or Msia There are old cassettes in "Roxy Records", costs S$5 each. Last Saturday I got 24 cassettes (mainly classical) by Award-Music, Decca and HUGO there. I'll arrange a visit after my exams in August (still farrrrrrrr from now...). Wish I could also find a cheap SONY portable DAT player there
  13. Yes it IS trend oriented. I haven't found any old discmans, walkmans or DAT players in Singapore till now. The new models are really poor Malaysia? hmmmm, if there're big cassette shops, I'll consider several visit. BTW, what's the price? Thanks!
  14. Thanks N@Z. I mean tape records, not blank cassettes
  15. I am going to upgrade my system , so, ... AKG K501 - 9/2002 at Adelphi Beyer DT331 - 2/2003 at Hung Brothers anyone interested pls reply or message me here or call me at 94762472.
  16. Sorry this is not about headphones There aren't any tapes in most CD shops... Anyone has ever bought tapes here? Thanks!
  17. "those were the days", hehe :-) To Rameish: yes nearly all my tapes are chrome ones, and what's the model of ur deck? I have bought the dcc130. It's not really portable, but beat a sony gx654 walkman easily.
  18. I have made several comparison between my friend's r707 MD and rq-sx77v walkman. Sound from md are much clearer, but sound from walkman are warm and more enjoyable. With cassette deck and metal tapes I can do much better. Discmans nowadays make little difference from md, such as the iMP400 which I have bought for a friend. anyway, just personal taste:-)
  19. There are no DCC format now. In fact what I need is only a cassette walkman, and the DCC130 can play cassettes, that's all:-) But walkmans in S'pore market are all quite new models, aiming at power saving and easiness to take. I think they are even worse than md player :-( and I don't like md...
  20. I tried ER6 and DT880 this afternoon. I feel like a bottle with ER6 in my ear, "WONG...ing" during I am listening. Don't know how long it will take me to get use to it... 880 is what I am looking for, very comfortable, and the sound is also comfortable. But I won't buy it recently since I am looking for a cassete walkman now. There are no good walkman in SLS and Courts, however, I found a Philips DCC 130, a digital compact cassette player. Could anyone tell me whether it is better than a normal walkman? Thanks! Regards, Voxel
  21. Hi Rameish, I am attilais in head-fi, the one who asked for advice on closed headphones to replace his K501 -- unfortunately I didn't read your reply until this evening... Glad to see so many head-fiers here:-) Still I am alone with my K501, with a DIY amp received last week. Singapore is really a noisy place, and now I definitely believe that I need closed cans, such as Etys However Etys are not portable -- I mean, it will be extremely dangerous wandering with Er4p in the ears... For portable earplugs I have heard something about the A8, does anyone know where it can be found here? Regards, voxel
