duen 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2009 I'm hoping to get a better than average pair of new earphones instead of the ones that come with iPhone. I'm not superbly good with audio, but recently listened to how some better earphones really improved the quality of my music. I'm aiming for something below $100, maybe even below $80. My main concern is on the kind of music I listen to. I'm a big fan of Gregorian chant and have loads of chant recordings I listen to for hours, and then some Classical too. I'm aware that different earphones might be good for different kinds of music - but I wouldn't know which is for what. So any recommendations? I've heard great things about this new Astello Radiance and UM1(although UM1 seems out of price range). How are these for Classical and Chant? And any other suggestions? Thanks, guys. Guest dragonboy Report post Posted August 7, 2009 The astello is definitely a fantastic earphone for that price. But it all goes down to personal perference, best is to try them out yourself. And usually there isn't much heavy pressure sales tactic.
duen 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2009 True, but it'll be useful to narrow down which ones I should try out too. Especially for the genre of music, based on others' experiences.
ical 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2009 Astello Radiance has a good soundstage which suit your kind of music. For portable cans, I recommend the Koss Porta Pro. Thought there's no isolation due to it's open cans design, it still sound good.
blackmouth0 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2009 yea, look like all had recommend the astello radiance. I find the astello sound nice for classical music, especially the whole orchestral instrument presentation can be heard. Bass respond was strong in the other hand, making the string bass plucking can be heard neatly.
