Recommended Posts

does anyone know how much JMT or the other DIY-ers charge for a standard built-to-spec with 12 buffers etc, PPA?

Would US$400 be a fair price? yes.gif opinions?

fancy specs from my other thread:

PPA v1.0A board

1% 1/4W hand-matched resistors

4x1000uF 35v Panasonic FC caps

8x100uF 35v Nichicon UPL caps

9xPhilips 1uF metallised polyest box caps

12xHA3-5002 buffers (4 per channel)

OPA637B for L/R channels

OPA627B for ground

biased to Class A with JFET cascodes

separate opamp rails

Alps Blue pot

CMC gold-plated RCA jacks

Cliff-UK non-locking Ni-Ag 1/4" headphone jack (hate locking jacks )

FEP teflon-coated solid-core bare copper hookup wires

2% silver solder used

Hammond 1455N1602 enclosure

yknow the opamps cost >S$100 already? buffers another S$100, and all the various bits and pieces..it all adds up to quite a bit I must say

It is easier to build the PPA rather than the Gilmore.

Cost for all parts would be around US$150 if you are really good.

I say US$250 is a good price without any DC power supply.
