IC: Powerbuy for CD3000s and Shure E2s

Recommended Posts

Interest check for power buy for Sony CD3000s direct from Tokyo.

It's US$335 at Sound House and US$345 at Yodobashi Camera.

http://www.soundhouse.co.jp/

US$335 works out to be about S$576 (plus or minus some exchange rate fluctuations and plus whatever it costs to ship to Singapore).

I have a friend working in Tokyo and if we have a critical mass, I'll ask him to negotiate for a cheaper deal, or failing, the economies of scale for bulk shipping should be worth the effort.

Can I have a show of hands who are in principle interested in joining in? I think 10 sets is a nice number to try for as a start.

(edit: Lekguan has highlighted that the Shure E2 is quite cheap (about S$135 excluding shipping) on the same website, so let me know if anyone else is also interested.)

Cheers!

  • Scriberex (maybe)
  • lksey
  • Kelso
  • Blues(if there's a 4th person)
Shures E2
  • AbsoluteO
  • Lekguan (maybe)

And there was 2... biggrin.gif

We're looking for another 3 preferably.

By the way, to provide for some certainty, this IC expires a week from today. 27 Nov 03.

Cheers!

I've edited the first post to show the list of people in the Powerbuy.

Hi N@z,

Please remove me from the powerbuy list at this point. I've just auditioned and decided to get the DT880 for now. tongue.gif But if there's a bigger group, I might consider also buying the CD3000 just for the heck of it. (opps... don't let the missus read that!)

But I'm happy to facilitate the powerbuy through my contact in Tokyo, unless someone else is travelling there.

Hi Blue,

I'm happy to extend it if you see value. Have asked my friend to get the quotations, so maybe easier for people to decide.

To all interested,

Lekguan has highlighted that the Shure E2 is quite cheap (about S$135 excluding shipping) on the same website, so let me know if anyone else is interested.

Cheers!

OK I notice you've edited it yourself already.

One suggestion (if possible) would be to do more than one particular Powerbuy so that we need not fullfill a specific individual quota of 5 or 10 or whatever.

Hi N@z,

That's true. Lekguan pointed out that the Shures E2 were a good price.

Checked the website, the foreign made headphones are expensive, the HD600, e.g. is S$732!!!

Maybe the hard to get Audio Technicas and Sonys may be worth it.

Cheers!

Now that you've mentioned it. Any chance of finding out about those lovely looking wooden AT clip-on headphones?

I could do with another pair of Shure E2C's if it's around S$140 shipped. Thanks! wink.gif
