tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 relax guys just a mock-up to see if i can fit the PPA in a mint tin the main components should be ok, but still a lot of other problems to iron out before attempting this one its possible to fit 8 power caps into the mint tin and still hav enough space for the rest of the amp, tried it with the Cmoy Variant, but the batt is going to be a tight fit. looking at the possibility of making the op-amp & buffer side into a double deck design, should still make the hight clearance any comments? N@Z 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 How about making a socket for a seperate external DC power supply so that this time you will have space to put in the volume pot!

tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 How goes this project tropicalrips? its on hold at the moment still tweaking my Cmoy slayer & testing it, also the A47 variant trying to fit eveything into the mini hammond case, but i think its quite impossible even the cmoy slayer is a very tight fit, had to use a "L" shape board for the amp inorder to fit the 9v the A47 is quite stable now, but i'm not sure which sounds better... the slayer has more "slam" & "punch" the A47 variant is more neutral & relax, i hav made quite a lot of changes to the A47 design, only 1 other person knows what it is will reveal them after the meet i think it will hav a new name after that
N@Z 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2004 Not quite 'in a tin design' but smaller at least for a PPA to be portable. http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showthread....&threadid=59339
Q00 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2004 i think thats the max that the ppa can be squeezed in tightly unless u look for a bigger mint tin.
