N@Z 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 Does anyone know the cheapest online site/host that allows this? I only need it mainly for linking photos directly to show up on the forums rather than attaching them on to the posts/threads. .mac is expensive & I don't really need the other services offered either. av98m 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 (edited) http://www.myphotospace.com/ I've used myphotospace for a few months and its been pretty reliable. 6.99usd per month for a 200mb account. Not exactly cheap, but the interface is very user friendly and I've had no problems. my tempo porn pictures are hosted by myphotospace, I didn't upload them to the forum. If you really want to save money, you can have 2 or more guys sharing the same account. Just create individual folders to upload to so you don't get your stuff mixed up. At the end of the day, if nobody wants to pay for photohosting, we're all going to see loads of red 'x's, broken links etc all over the place(look at head-fi and other forums). No such thing as a free lunch. Edited December 29, 2003 by av98m

jtfoo 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 Try this http://nicholas.summerslam.info/ Searching for your image might be a little of a hassle, but it's free.
evil-zen 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 how about we find a suitable host then we split the cost during the meet? i am also interested.
Tenson 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Try ImageStation I don't know how much space you get, but it lets you link and its free! Owned by sony. I was useing it untill my Dad gave me space on his servers
N@Z 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 OK just to reiterate so everyone knows exactly what I meant, I'm (Firefox & evil Zen included) looking for a host that allows direct picture linking on to the SGH/Head-Fi i.e. the image loads up directly on to the post rather than a URL link to say ImageStation or YahooPhotos & the like. Something like the photos linked by av98m. Might consider that if nothing else cheaper. Looking for something cheap & reliable, with NO pop-up & banners! jtfoo's suggestion is good (lot's of risque photos there though!) might use that for the time being but if other members want to join in, in order to spread the cost further, I'm game. evil-zen 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 but we need to find one with a super high bandwidth limit. cause the last time i posted a picture on headfi, the pictures were down the next day most prob due to too much downloads. ya and additional email accts are welcomed as well. i propose we find one based in singapore? not really sure about hosting plans and such. N@Z 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 If anyone still needs the photohosting. I saw this link on someone's signature in Head-Fi: http://www.particleseven.com/pricing.php Pricing Plan - Level 1 seems reasonable. Not sure if they will allow personal usage though. I'm sure they allow personal use but 500MB of bandwidth will be raped in less than 1 week. I think I'll look for my old friend and see if I can bank in on his home-server for a while. heh.... evil-zen 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 something i found. got this from some pictures that were hosted on headfi and seems pretty stable. http://photobucket.com/ Direct / Hot linking allowed 2,500 megs bandwidth p/month (~70,000 hits) 100 megs disk space (~2,500 pictures)
N@Z 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Well, looks like everyone's found their own individual solutions. For now...
