Oehlbach cable for Sennheiser??

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I just saw in here, that Meier-Audio sells some Oehlbach cables, even replacement cables for HD600/580. Did anyone try these out?? I would be really interested whether they are sounding good and how they compare to the other ones (Equinox etc.). Hmm, and they are retailing for 45 Euro wink.gif Finally a cable even I could afford laugh.gif

I have tried the cables out. The cables works really well with the HD600 but not with the HD650.

The Oehlback seems to give the HD600 more weight in it sonic signature, which makes it sounds better IMHO. Of course the Oehlback gives better extention in both ends.

I have heard the HD650 with Oehlback cables, it makes the music sounds really slow and thick.... too thick and veiled for my liking. IMO, the HD650 works best with the Equinox since it gives it more air.

Just my 2 cents worth.

just wondering if the oehlbach cable tightens up the bass in the HD600 at all and also if the cable sweetens the HD600's high end? Thanks!

The two cables are of different flavours. So if I prefer more "air" to my music ie, large room recordings, I will use the Equinox. For vocals or jazz I will use the Oehlbach cables. So it really depends on my mood and the type of music. No personal preference just let the music decide.
