Anyone did cable change for Philips 890?

I have bout 150Hrs on the cans and it really open up alot.

Was just wondering any one did a cable change on this cans?

Is it worth it?

i think u will need to take apart the casing for that rite?

& resolder the new cables in.

 

or does it hav the changeable cable like the Senns ?

thats y i dare to have the thought...i'll never attempt to take apart my cans...

I done it with firefox's soldering skills. The mini plug (where it goes into the headphone) can be a PITA to solder.

another point is, the (PITA plug) is the stock ones or changed too?

if i recall correctly, Ablaze also changed the cord to his 890 as well.

Changed everthing including the min plud and a Neutrik 1/4inch Jack. I actually have 2 of these hanging around. One belongs to firefox (Canare 103 L-4E5C) and mine (Canare 105 L4-E6S). These have been stipped of the outer sheath and techflexed near the end that goes into the headphone for better flexilibity.
