Dearie me... I certainly hope not. If that was true we all might still be driving Model T Fords.

There's also called the "hairdresser's" car, "boyracer", "flatcap", "tawkey"... etc, etc, etc. As a generisation, the driver/owner is also defined by the look/marque of his/her car.

Ditto here man! Although this Ah-Beng is slowly weaning towards the sensible family man car (uncle!) but preferably still something with a little oomph!

maybe the new volvo s40 T5.

or the saab 93Aero.

The new Legacy perhaps.

enough oomph for an uncle! tongue.gif

but seriously, alot of family man aka uncle has gone for Scoobys or even the Evo for their family car.

4 door, spacious(maybe not the Scooby) and pretty affordable.

Esp for the Scooby, not the STI though.

Motorimage just had a promotion for them a few weeks back.apparently to push the sales to greater heights.

BTW

N@Z, how much difference in price are the cars, as compared between brunei & singapore?

Hehehe... superstar uncle!

Beemers & Mercs have never been my cup of tea. Well, not the ones I really like anyway, like the M-Technik & AMGs. The Legacy is yet to be released here, pending price approval from the authorities, so wait & see, I find it the most interesting & suits my present needs. Shame Suby doesn't do turbo diesels, would be interesting! Both the new model Volvo & Saabs look pretty dashing but is expensive to purchase new, not to mention the running & astronomical maintenance cost here. I've driven a '00 model year Saab 9-5 Aero. Blimey! Fantastic in-gear acceleration! In sport mode the car literally lunges you forward as it rapidly accelerates. Definitely an Olympic sprinter in a Boss suit.

In most cases you could just divide the cost of SG car prices by 1/2 to get the equivalent price in Brunei. It's cheaper to buy I guess but our financing period is only up to max. of 7 years instead of your 10 years. There's no COE. Insurance just went up recently but I think it should still be fairly competitive compared with other countries within the region. Not sure about (dealer) labour cost for maintenance but spare parts are 2~3 times more expensive in general.
