Rameish 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2004 Hmm... hot glued headphone jack and volume pot being so near the tubes...hmm. What tube are those btw? They look like miniature 9 pin tubes but that may be the camera focal length (ie shot taken at wideangle). How does it sound compared to other amps in it's class? AV98M this christmass you might wanna sing "chinchilla roasting on an open fire" LOL Kidding ya.
Ma6Jia 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2004 Confirm its power output stage is MOS FET K214/J77. The tubes are for input and voltage amplification, and "current driving stage"? (sorry, hopefully you guy/gal know what I am talking, correct me if I am wrong) What tubes? let me pull out the whole thing and see. Need to de-solder some connections. How does it sound? good question, This is the one thousand and one headamp I have, The only thing I can say is...... I have nothing to compare.

You mean the tubes are sioldered on? Surely not? You should be able to remove the tubes without desoldering anything. As for the sound didn't you compare it to anything else in the shop where you bought it?
Ma6Jia 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 (edited) It is not DIY. It is a product from China. RMB880. Well below 100 EURO, cheaper than the Master Headamp from Original, and is 2-in-1, value for money. In fact I would like you to have an audition before telling you the price. With this price, why DIY? Of course, DIY is not because of the price. I mean I need to desolder some connection to pull out the complet board to take picture. The shop is in China, I ask my colleague to buy and bring it over, because it is "so cheap" I decide to take the risk. And no regret, in fact I am proud of it, hahaha.... Together with my Philips HP890 S$90, the Panasonic SL-CT810 S$252 just bought today, plus a half meter(S$10 a meter) long interconnector made from Audioquest type 4 speaker cable(crazy right?) + 2 RCA + 3mm stereo plug total S$12. Total system cost: ~S$534. Edited March 23, 2004 by Ma6Jia
