upgrade from grado sr80 to 225

is this decision a wise one? i compared both cans some time back in mbd but i was in a rush so didnt reli spend much time with them, and i've also forgotten how the sr225 sounded, wondering if i should get a sr225 for rock or is the sr80 good enough for the job?

For rock SR 325 is the best of the grados.

The difference is that the woody mid and the high is more details and the sound more “upfront”.

SR225 (woody) bass is not that tight than the SR325. As for the mid and high the difference is very slight. I preferred the SR325 tighter BASS.

For rock SR 325 is the best of the grados.

Many find the SR325's too bright, and prefer the SR225's/MS-2's. No experience though, but just a caveat.

SR80 to SR225 is a good upgrade (bad for the wallet thou ) Speaking from personal experience, but now came out a gold version SR325i, which reviews say is better than the old SR325.
