as above, will it kill the lens of my sony cd player fast? how much will it usually cost to replace a lens? thanks

It depends on whether the lens can be found at 3rd party shops in SLT. If so, it shouldn't cost you more than $80 to replace. Otherwise, replacement from Sony will cost you anything from $160 to $200.

lolz i strongly believe in the universal rule "sh*t happens". i get sh*t coming my way all the time so its better to be prepared

2 hrs a day is too short a time to kill the lens don't you think? I used my cd player to run for days for burning in and after 3 years, still good. It's more probably a bad media that kills the lens. Bad CD-R recordings or dirty discs causes the lens to work harder and they burn out faster. My rule of the thumb is never play bad cds. haha...Please anyone correct me if I am wrong.
