red_ryder 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2005 1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

Firefox 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2005 Go to Mozilla's website. Search the Extensions for "Tweak Network". That's a graphical interface for this tweak. I've been using it since Firefox 0.9..

Firefox 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 (edited) any link between your nick and the browser? Not again...... I've been using this handle since 1997. That's before there was a Mosaic, which is before there was Netscape, which is before there was Mozilla. And no, it's got more to it than just Fire and fox put together.. Then again, the origins of my handle is probably older than you.. red_ryder Firefox red_ryder Firefox red_ryder Firefox Edited May 6, 2005 by Firefox
Absolute0 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 red_ryder Firefox red_ryder Firefox red_ryder Firefox LOL. That question was in my mind too, but I guessed as much - not many would want their nick to be the name of a web browser. The nick "IE" up for grabs, anyone?
