wil 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Gah. Called Frankie today. He said the amp was fine, BUT, the LED was stil flickering and he said that it would stop after the amp warmed up. Problem is that the LED flickering is the root of the problem. No cold joints, no burnt resistors. GAH
Firefox 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Change the LED then..
huangyong 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 LED causing buzz??!! that's new to me
Northern Oak 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 (edited) hi wil, After reading your initial account with the buzzing sound, I suddenly realise that I'd that problem previously. The buzzing will go off after the amp has warmed up and the source of the problem was with one of my EL84 tube. Once the tubes were changed, the buzzing just stopped. One thing to note though, my LED didn't flicker at all. Edited May 13, 2005 by Northern Oak
wil 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Thanks Oak, I just found it weird, as the amp didnt make a "buzz" sound, but a loud, audible "Tick" that was in accordance in the flicker of the LED. Will go down to Well Audio later and take a look at my amp again. Thanks for the input!
