Username 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2005 Where can I get nice knobs for "half-moon" potentiometers like the ALPS RK09? I've tried almost every shop in SLT but the only ones I found were ugly grey ones. Like this...

jtfoo 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2005 (edited) Where are those Audiophile DIY shops? You didn't read me properly. I don't get knobs from audiophile shops. COz the good lookings ones I found are not meant for hifi products. Edited October 3, 2005 by jtfoo

jtfoo 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 jt: Apparently I said I went to SLT, those are no "audiophile shops"... So WHERE exactly can I find nice knobs... So my question hangs... There's already a thread on audiophile shops somewhere here. But I don't recall seeing any nice knobs at these places. For standard decent looking audio gear type of knobs, you can try koba at peoples park complex. But the type of knobs that I like are not meant for audio gears but instead for musical instruments like the electic guitar. You's looking for shiny knob, the chrome plating type for a Fender tele has that classic look. Those speed knobs for Gibson also looks fantastic. Then there's those custom made with heavy metal imagery. I'm still looking for the elusive knob that goes all the way to 11. av98m 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Koba and Larry's sell very nice looking knobs, esp Larry's (Basement, People's Park Shopping Centre). Look at both places, especially since they're in the same building.
heady 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Not really shiny, but it is a nice solid aluminium Farnel item code 662343 SGD 5.07 before GST. If these are solid aluminium, they will look and feel better than those from Koba.
Kippei 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 I got them. It is 1 chunk of aluminium
ckng 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 (edited) RS has the same looking aluminium knobs too: S$4.32 for the 28mm diameter one. I used this for my DIY META42 a year plus ago. The actual finishing is nicer than this pic. RS part number is 498-895 for silver, 498-823 for black. Regards CK Edited October 5, 2005 by ckng
