Wortel 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2003 (edited) I just have to ask whats with the black cones stuck on all your gear? Those are wooden cones (dunno what kinda wood though) from a local shop. I've used a lot of cones and I find these rather effective and not too overpowering with their effects. With several tweaking methods, I can achieve better tonality overall, warmer mids and better balance of imaging/soundstaging. They are subtle but this allows me to work with a no. of these cones to tune my system ot meet my preference. A set of 3 costs only S$40 and they are rigid enough to be placed under equipment for isolation/coupling purposes. Is he pulling my leg?? Mackie 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2003 (edited) It's not meant to pull anyone's legs. It's just my own experimental way of tweaking the audio gears to the nature I want them to sound. My first student is Northern Oak (hope U don't mind this designation) and he's so convinced he wrote a thread on his experience with the tweaks I've introduced. See http://www.sgheadphones.com/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=205 My other contribution using more bizarre coin tweaks: http://www.sgheadphones.com/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=367 Edited July 31, 2003 by Mackie

Mackie 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2003 (edited) thanks for the extra input. I still think it sounds During the medieval age, the population would have deemed U crazy if U were to say the Earth is round. Have an open mind......just like Agents Scully and Mulder in X-files. On the scientific bit, it's all about resonance. Edited July 31, 2003 by Mackie
