Rameish 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Bloody showoff ;-) Nice setup RawHit. I'm glad my former HP-1 is in good hands. You digital camera seems to be off focus. Or were you downing too many bottles of wiskey? Nice, real nice.
Wortel 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Well anybody gonna tell me how much those babys ae worth? :S
Rameish 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Wortel, HP-1 go for around US$700 upwards if they are in excellent condition with Box and Papers. There's a guy who is currently offering more than US$1,200 for a Mint Condition one with the non-signature Grado cable and flat pads.

RawHit 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Thanks blues Wortel, the average price of the HP1s these days seems to be between USD 800-900 though mint pairs go for more. Rameish, I'm total newbie at photography...may be I'll be able to get some better pics soon N@Z, agreed I really need a good source for these babies, but it will be some time before I take the plunge
Wortel 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I thought they looked cool and I might try them out someday. But 800USD maybe not.
jarthel 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2003 (edited) I read this once in headwize, mp3 and hifi don't mix. Seems like an oxymoron to me. Edited August 2, 2003 by jarthel

RawHit 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Umm jarthel? why you talking about mp3s? Did you look at the source photos? It's a nomad and I think it only play mp3s. actually I put uncompressed wav files on the Nomad...agreed I can't put more than 25 full albums at the same time but thats good enough for me. Even otherwise I use Lame encoded mp3s with Alt-Preset-Insane settings and frankly I cant hear the difference from the original. MP3s have been badgerd a lot mainly because the ones downloaded from Kazaa etc sound like crap. I agree that even with wav files the nomad can't compete with a good standalone cdp. I will be getting a good cdp though not immediately as I have some other financial commitments.
