fuwen 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2003 Build quality is only average, for that price. The electronics is not very rugged mechanically. If the amp is not secured properly on the move, the movement of the cables and the headphones cables can create noise/distorsion in the headphone. Also when adjusting the volumn can hear the noise/distorsion also, though not a very loud one for both cases. The frequency reponse seems also vary in characteristics at different amplification level, and I found the characteristics most neutral at about 50% amplification. Also you cannot use external power supply while the 9V alkaline is still in the amp. So I upgrade to Sound Devices HX-3, running on 2 AAs, built for commercial application, very rugged but at about 4 times the price of Rolls. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
