Need to get a good noise-cancellation headset for PC.

I plan to get my friend a present for his housewarming. Please do help me out

 

the criteria is as follows:

 

1. Noise-cancellation

 

2. Headset

 

3. Senns if possible

 

4. Budget around $250

 

5. Good for gaming purposes.

I don't know anything about noise-cancelling headphones, but would commend Stereo Electronics as a good place for you to try. They are located in Causeway Point and carry a good range.

Noise cancellation really works well only for low frequency noise. For household noise, apart from aircon hum, I don't think other noise will be appreciably reduced by the active cancellation. In my opinion, for home use, a close headphones with good passive noise reduction is better. It will even block out people talking to you, if you want to ignore them.

I don't game much, but I used my Beyer DT990s for gaming very well (but it will not help you shield out outside noise, perhaps you might want to look at the Beyer DT150 which is closed). The clarity is so much that it gives you an unfair advantage in the game
