SOS needed!

Recommended Posts

hi guys, after looking at the forum for a long time, it's finally my time to ask a question on the headphone to recommend to me...

I am a classical person, who listen to classical music..and the strange things is, in my band, I am playing the Tuba (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuba)

What I need is a headphone or earphone that can help me to liten to my part ( low register notes)

is there any? i heard that if i use the akg-518, it will spoil the overall of my song..is it true?

The AKG-K518 bass may be a bit too muddy for classical. Why not try the AKG-K271? But you would require an amp for it to perform.

For earphones, you can try the UE sf3 studio.

Good headphones for classical below $150 and can handle low bass with control is a bit tough...... I'll recommend you to try out the Koss portapro abt $80+.

Anything higher, I can only think of the ATH-ES7. But it is abt $180+, closed-cans.

If you happened to be in town, you can also vist stores in sls. That is provided you already know what you're look for. It is very unlikely that you can expect a demo, but location maybe more convenient. As you

know stereo is located at an extreme end of s'pore.

The MS-1 may sound slightly brighter to some people. Even though my songs are all in WAV, when i travel on the trains with my MS-1, I tend to increase my volume slightly louder. So it tends to be a bit harsher to my ears especially if you listen for too long.

ES-7 lean more to the warmer side of sound. Very good midrange with detailed vocals without sounding to bright. And the advantage of portability coz it's closed-cans. So you don't need to increase your volume to cover the background noise.

That's my own point of view, and music is very subjective. Only way to know is to try them out.
