N@Z 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2003 ... so a k240 55ohm is better than one with 200ohm? ... Generally a headphone with lower impeadance is easier to drive. Does not necessarily mean better sound just that you can use it/it would have more than adequate volume unamped directly out of any portable headphone out of a portable CD, MD etc. It'd be wiser if you decide on one headphone & use the extra money for getting a headamp. Unless you intention is to listen to headphones with different characters.
Mackie 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 wow so a k240 55ohm is better than one with 200ohm? well i just cant make up my mind between the k240 and k501 k240 is better for dvds due to the bass but k501 is more comfortable on my ears and more eye-pleasing well i am thinking of getting both first....then sell one of them off after i made my decision Wait a minute. I did not mean to say cans of lower impedance sound better over its equivalent of higher impedance. More often than not, I find speakers and cans of higher impedance sound better despite the high demand of power/current from amps. Ultimately, make a decision via audition. Difference in sound quality can be as clear as day and night.
