Hi charismatic Not that the 701 doesn't suit the Diva, it can be used, just that the 701 is more picky of the source. I sort of felt the 701 sounded a bit cold on the first track, then as you got the 2nd/3rd, the music flowed better. It sounds different from the 501, whereas the 501 has its balance tilted to the mids/highs, the 701 trys to level the FR, and gives a more distant perspective of the soundstage. Hi cmk, After the first hand auditioning of K701/K601 + Diva at Jaben, here my -0.02ct comments. K701 Personally I think that K701 is chosy toward the genre of music and favours good recordings. It has a Biggest headstage from the cans I come across so far, bigger than the OmegaII. You need good amp n source for it. And it's sound characteristic is different from K501 and K601. K601 Interesting, the housing looks the same as k501 except the pad is different. It's retains the charactistics of K501 and with added bass, maybe it should be named as K501i. so how's your home trial of 880? As I said, if in doubt, buy first worry later.

Hi cmk, Yes, u r right, i have been 'secretly' enjoying the music through the amp. The diva amp gives a more 'real' representation of music, that differentiate it from others. From your review, are u suggesting that k701 don't suit the diva amp?

Hi Kusboy, My suggestion is try w3cube also. I think they were the first who brought Iriver into SG. Bought my Iriver SP250 from them years ago. It seems like it is now selling more of electronics/electrical accessories than PCDP. The way they sell their product is different from the batch at SLS. Decent seller.

Hi Mr. Rameish, First has your cable passed the 150 hour mark of playback? -- Yes(past tense). -- Dont judge a cable before that. Second, the hard fact is cables need to match the system. If what you have described about the supra (whose sonic signature I dont recall - getting old) is indeed after the 150 hour mark try either the Kimber PBJ or even Hero (dont go for the Silver Streaks). -- My setup has been gradually changed since then. When CD5000 was replaced by the SA17 player, it became very bright. I replaced the supra with the AV deco IC. I have tried audioquest viper IC in between but it's too fast. When I change the amp from creek to diva, the AV deco became bright and fast. I replaced it with the Ailssa Tweak IC and it's OK up to now. I have tried the RS Solid Silver interconnects in between, it's like AKG501 IC , the vocal and high is clear and details but it got a sort of 'roll-off' effect when the music hits lower frequency. -- Alternatively, try a recipe of your own like multi strand with solid core (each in different jacket). Or both in the same jacket if you can find it ;-) -- I have clumsy hands, DIY isn't for me. --

My first 'proper' IC is monster 400mk2 that i bought base on hifi magazine review and had used it for > half a year. It is warm and bass heavy and when paired with my marantz 5000 and creek hp amp, too much of warm air blows to my face. I changed to a 0.5m supra IC which the AVIT link sales man said that it's has an 'Airly' characteristic. The problem on too much of warm air was gone.
