  3. Aiyah, who said anything about off days for you? The party is for us!
  4. I feel so sick after the last few pictures..... Can't even afford a Mazda 2. please............. before I
  5. Here are two photos I took of the HD800 at the launch.
  6. Great meeting you too, hellfire. You must have wondered who's that ah pek.
  7. Hi guys, Sennheiser organised a very cool launch experience for the HD800. So as not to spoil the fun for those still to go for their appointment, I will not say much about the event until Sat night. Sennheiser also request that no pictures be posted until after the Sat appointments. Senn provided a nice collection of CDs for listening but I will suggest bringing your own more familiar CDs. Time was limited, as each person could listen for only 30 mins. My quick opinion of the SQ: - Very crisp sound, clean but not shrill nor bright. Good for extended listening, not fatiguing. - Sound staging is adequate but not very wide. - Felt it was neutral, transparent and revealing - Lack warmth on voices but probably due to headphone amplifier used. - Lack authority and slam on bass, may also be due to amplifier. Comfort: - light and gentle on ears - no problem for spectacle wearers Isolation: - none, its an open design. I am sure the others with a better skills than mine can post here with their opinions as soon as they have heard this headphones.
  8. I am interested to hear abt the Yuin too.
  9. Guys, The rules said conduct negotiations through PM and no discussions. So please do help me by following the rules. Thanks.
  10. Sounds good enough for me. Will you be there?
  11. I agree with you kookie. $100 is a small price to pay for health. If you solder in an enclosed room, please use the fume extractor.
  12. Is it necessary? Well, I think a well ventilated room with a fan to blow a way the fumes is just as good. If you use aircon room to solder in, then I worry for you. Don't know if the Weller fume extractor has carbon filter to absorb the lead.
  13. Sold to a nice young gentleman. Thanks for your interest.
  14. Selling my ATH M50 headphones which is one year old. Bought in May 2008. Here is a link to a picture of the phones (obviously not mine): http://www.sweetwater.com/images/items/180...HM50-xlarge.jpg And here are some reviews: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ATHM50/reviews/ http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/audio-tec...-review-386819/ Sadly have to let this headphones go as it has being replaced by an ugly and large competitor, a Beyerdynamics DT150 which cost twice as much new. The M50 sounds terrific for its price and is very well run in. It is unfortunate that my ears are a little too large for it. I got a large head. Condition is very good and with original box and 1/4inch adaptor. I am asking for $120 for it. Please PM me to deal.

    preamp?

I have not checked but I think so since the designer(s) chose commonly available parts. My Pimeta had commonly available parts, except the BUF chip which is now almost impossible to find. Regards

    preamp?

Ya, it is. Wait for board to go on sale. Better than doing it p2p. Regards

    preamp?

Hi To use your mini3 as preamp, connect source to mini3, then from output of mini3 to power amp. Same for the RA1. So if your source uses RCA then you need two RCA to mini-phono jack cables. Hope this is good advice. If not, then others will surely jump in and correct me.
  18. I think Ultrasone distributor is Sinamex, located in Parklane Shopping Mall basement. Can try to get to listen to it, if you look like serious buyer.
  19. I think whether Marantz is bright or not depends also on what the other equipment are. It's a matter of synergy. If you have a fairly laid back speakers and amp, then the Marantz will sound right. Otherwise it will be bright. As for old vs new. Being a stingy guy myself, if old CDP + lens change cost is less than new CDP then I would go for the older CDP. My 2 cents worth.
  20. Most active noise cancelling phones work on low frequency noise, eg jet engine or MRT engine noises. If the construction noise is due to engines then should work. I don't think it will work well with impact noises eg, drilling, hammering etc. With passive noise blocking phones, they cut down on outside noise but not totally. The music will take over to hopefully guile you to ignore the remaining noises. Just hope the music don't distract you away from studying. Visit Stereo Electronics if you live near to Woodlands. Otherwise, visit Jaben in Adelphi. Beware though, that these places are "poisonous" to wallets.
  21. I thank the parties involved for being mature and quickly settling this without igniting a cyber firestorm. Let's close this matter up and move on. Shall we?
  22. Nice and sharp pic. I think a little more exposure may benefit it though. A little too dark. Just my 2 cents. Or maybe it's just my monitor.
  23. ***Mod Warning issued***
