How many of the "made in china" products actually break down that more easily? European factories are using gold plated machineries? I actually quite like the design of this amp. Reminds me of the Sudgen Headmaster. They are some nice feedback of this amp from a no. of ppl here. And $200 is pretty cheap.

Get those mini hi-fi sets. Can connect to your PC and can also perform stand alone. It's sometime really troublesome to switch on the PC just to listen to radio or the cds. For $400, I'm sure you can get one of those decent sets if you aren't that particular with sound. "Good" sounding speakers don't come cheap. I love those mini compos that come with the multiple band EQ bars. Unless you have a good soundcard to justify the speakers then.

The sony sleeves come in a friendly pack of 3 sizes. S, M, L. Perhaps you can ask those who has the Sony EX71~ to take measurements or let you try fit them. If they fit okay, I can get a pack for you at 600yen(SGD$8+) at the next group buy?

Hello Fizban! LOL. I'm not so "knowledgeble" lah. I'm probably just like you, just that I am lucky enough to try out new gears oftenly. The shure E5c was my first "audiophile" phone. Perhaps you too? =] If you are not using them portable, I suggest you get a full size can for the comfort. I assume that you are not using any amps for them. A900 is the most comfortable of them all in my opinion. The A900 is a super efficient phone and just about perfect for your gaming and laptop. Sound is a bit colored, but warm. Never harsh nor too high for any taste. Low end and the midrange are preety neat and still can be improved with the cotton-modification. I have also had the Grados SR80 and SR125 on my PC. Excellent phones but they kinda hurt your ears after a while. Not so comfortable and pretty fatiguing after 40mins+ useage. I would say the same for the SR60s. Senns HD555 and HD595, I am not sure because I am not a great fan of the senns. They go too neutral for me. And those are not the proudest of the senns to own in my opinion. (dun really like the build. LOL) As for the Bose phones, they are not bad but I am sure others will be quick to put them down. Not very popular in the audiophile scene but trust your own ears I would say. I did listened to them before and I thought they were too expensive. Of them all, I would first, the Ath A900, then the grados. =] Hope my insignificant opinion helps. Rgds,

It's an entirely different atmosphere with the A900. I did own the A900 and also have the Shure E5c. I kinda prefer the A900 for home use, the confort, the wider soundstaging and the colored sound. Though I wouldn't say it's better in sonical improvement, but it's sure fun to have. At least the soundstaging and comfort is an improvement over the shures. Think driving a Jaguar and a SUV.

Perhaps you can try the Sony EX71's replacement sleeves? I am not sure but maybe they fit?

Did you get a locked focus? Half shuttle focus then click? Digital point and shoot can cause such problems. Shaky hands? Definately without a tripod!

Macro mode is the one for closeups and the icon reflecting this is the "tulip/flower" symbol. Distance shots are iconed by the "mountain"

I have no idea what other programs offer, but the only digital imaging/editing software that any professional would use, would be none other than Photoshop. Do you have it? Try it with your pictures. Even the "auto color/level/contrast" modes for beginners are brilliant. But if you want to have absolute control over your shots, manual editing in photoshop is the way to go. If possible, take the pictures without the filters/programs offered by the camera. Raw mode is better still.

No photo software is a photo software unless it's ADOBE PHOTOSHOP! LOL. Btw, what camera are you using and what modes?

well, just look at the headset and you can find out. If there's a wire mesh kinda material, it can be nothing more than just electrostatic phones.

Most important thing ever for product shots>>> Use backdrop paper. White or Grey would be perfect. If dun have, mahjong paper also good. Get extra lightnings/lamps and a TRIPOD of cse!

That is some heavy useage to get such a tear within a year of use. Do you clean it often that results in the material coming off? I do have a couple of Ath cans but none of them come off like yours. Why not get replacements pads? I'm sure you can order somewhere in singapore? As for improving your shots, first do some "level" adjustments in photoshop. They are too dark straight off from a digitalcam. Details are thus hidden. And use a tripod. LOL.

Nakedtoes<<< You got bass on a stax? That is a little unbelievable. Can you describe it more? I never actually heard good bass on staxs except a clean lean thud which is the signatures of electrostatics. I'm not sure what absolute0 means by not a true electrostatics. Am really curious to know about it more. And have fun with them staxes.
