  1. IIRC, there's a display set at Hung Bro's for the k26p, but not for the px200. Whether you consider them to still be reasonably hygenic is up to you, of course
  2. This site has given me the joys of cmoy2, grados, shures and sharps. 1. Absolute0 2. MatBon0013 3. N@Z 4. gfgfMoses 5. heady 6. Mychew (count me in, I can help a bit) 7. Nakedtoes. 8. Q00 9. afbug 10. evian_vortex 11.Kube I also don't know much about database management or any sort of web-based stuffs, very noob at it. But should any assistence be required, I would be glad to help.
  3. also...might get vicious stares for blaring music from your head.
  4. If using at home, I recommend the Grado line. For an open headphone, bass can rival most closed ones. Tried the K26p. The bass was nice, but the details were lacking...much roll-off(I'm not sure if that's the sound I describe it to be), on the high and mids, great isolation though. If you don't need isolation, Grados, definitely.

Cool. Somehow, the one I'm designing doesn't seem to be panning out very well... maybe you should change the labels on the pads...a bit confusing?
  6. Ehh...scout around the shops. You have to ask the shopkeeper though.

Ehh...I AM working on my own version...but if you don't mind siriuz...I'll prob have to you use yours. My EOY exams are next months so I don't think I can spend much time on this project.

heh, haven't started assembling yet... taking things slow. The first time I rushed into the cmoy2, I wrecked it. Taking it one step at a time

Also asking....can power from a dc supply work? I have access to a dc supply, but can I use on the amp part?

question...there are 4 points on the recitifier ic....1 negative, 1 positive, and 2 waveforms. I'm not sure what connects to what.

I need to ask...What program do the guys at headwise use to draw their schematics?

Sorry, siriuz...but the weather today decided to give it's blessings until about 4. So I had to rush with getting my components for the PS...bleh, forgot to snag an led for either of us I don't have a contact number at the moment, phone got stolen quite recently and am thus phoneless, pmed you my msn addy. Also, I have a multimeter myself, so if you want I can bring it down this fri. Ok...several questions - For the bridge rectifiers, there were several types, but I took the circular ones...just that I'm not sure if the ratings are correct, or are there specific ratings for the bridge rectifier? Also got an IEC socket and a 3-pin plug...all I need to know is the pin configuration for the plug, don't want to risk incompatibility later... Finally...I only went to 1 shop to look for a trafo, picked up a 12VA 15-0-15. Can this do?

Eh, siriuz, I'll help snag you the led, going down to slt this afternoon.

No problem, though does Koba open until quite late? (travel to chinatown is about 1/2 hour or so). Also asking...are you goint to add the LED portion? Just in case later I decide to add that part...what value of R should I use?

Lol, siriuz...what time are you going to leave the place? I attend SP, but finish only at around 5, think I might be able to join you? Also contemplating an idea...should I come up with a PCB board for the SOHA? I mean, it seems quite popular, and since I have technical aid and the right programs at the poly, plus the ability to use the PCB manufacturing lab... Or are you sticking with the design that came out on headwise (the one with the star ground) and/or using perfboards?...

Speaking of live mains...do you connect a 3-pin plug directly to the circuit board or PS itself, or do you solder one of those 3-pin sockets in first...if so, where can I find those sockets?
  18. well...the one with EE knowledge can modify circuits, no?

Erm...siriuz...are you going to include Da Blok into the heater? Excuse my short-handed words, the heater is the PS, right? Saw your list, and decided to follow it!

Erm...I can see that I'm entering pretty late into this thread here...but an tube amp really intrigues me.. Just finished my cmoy 2, and hungry for another amp (damn this forum! )... Some questions though...what kind of boards did you use? Schematic for the SOHA I can find, but it seems very complicated for a stripboard or even p-t-p soldering...but is that how you guys did it?
  21. Heh. First year in poly...still pretty noobish about most things...
  22. Huh? You want an in-ear for portable use...but a headphone for home/office. Well...I recommend the ep-630 from creative for the fomer, and the grado sr-80 for the latter.
  23. Woohoo! After months of deliberation, my cmoy 2 looks like crap, the most of the drillings on the casing are out of place, and have 2 opamps fried....but the music's great! Currently using 2 opa2227's... instantly heard the increased mid bass to trebles. Btw, what's the amperage for a normal non-rechargeable 9v? I scouted around slt, and the most I can find is a 280mah rechargeable.
