  1. On that note...just asking, is the E3C capable of bass that the md33 can put out? I need the isolation of the md33's, but I can't stand it's microphonics.

    E-MU 0404

Hmm...check your DSP patchmix...I notice distortions whenever I set the main mix level too high
  3. I go with feeling. If I like it, I hope I'll be able to afford it the next part time job I get. But I'm still quite noobish....must go audition some good stuff first....

    mp3 players

Zen Micro!! Haha, only joking. By the way, has anyone got around to testing the Nano's sound? I read somewhere that the Nano uses a different DAC than the previous generations.
  5. Tried the K26P for a few weeks. One thing I have to say is definitely the bass. Very pronounced. I wouldn't say the phones were muddied...but compared to some Senn's, perhaps it sounds as such. The mids and highs for the k26p were decent, I guess. The only think I disliked about it was the way it kiap the hair sometimes and the way it pressed on the side of the my head.

Hmm..any idea where they selling it in Singapore? See if I can have a go at it...

    SolidDrive...

wonder how it would sound like at home...
  10. Well...most of time, I just listen to a favourite track over and over, with a particular pair of cans. Then, to test out some new ones, I just listen to the same thing. Being a different can, I can 'feel' a difference in the track. Gradually, through listening to it several times, I pick up the characteristics of that particular headphone. That's just my measuring stick.
  11. Just wondering...has anyone heard of the new SolidDrive products that just came to Singapore? Apparently, it turns surrounding materials into speakers...like some transducers, I guess.

I don't have amps or special cans as yet...
  13. Hmm...it's interesting, cause sometimes, even I don't know whether when I'm listening to a freakin' expansive amp at my uncle's house or trying out some headphones that are more expansive than mine, that I'm really hearing a difference, or that I'm just THINKING that I'm hearing a difference. For example, when I listen to mp3's with my EMU, I think that because there's a better DAC, I should hear fuller, deeper, clearer tunes. Maybe the difference is practially imperceptible, maybe there isn't even a difference, but if I'm satisfied, then I'm satisfied. Then there are the obvious differences, like isolation and bass. Haha...as said, if you can hear it, you can hear it. Just my 2 cents.
  14. No, no...what I was meaning was that I accidently exposed my Senn's to a high volume MOMENTARILY. So I'm asking whether this momentary burst of current might've affected the cans in anyway.

    X-Fi out...

As I said...bright and boomy. The bass sounded VERY deep and the highs VERY bright, even on a HD280pro...Darn you jasonhan! Now I want one....
  16. Well...sometimes, I set the volume too high...which then comes out as cracklings on my cans...just wondering if exposure to such high volumes for just a moment can damage them.
  17. Well...what I do know is that the ear eventually get's used to the higher volumes, and less sensitive to the lower levels. For example, some times, I mistakenly up my volume a notch and listen for a day...the next day, I notice that the previous level is too soft. What I try to do is just let my ears get used to the softer levels.
  18. Don't use speakers...but most of the time...I just stick to one volume level, perferrably pretty low. As long as I don't have to bump it higher afterawhile, I know my hearing's still there...
  19. A noobish question here...what happens if my headphones were exposed to erm...a high current, as in much 'loudness'...to put it in a way... Same goes with a low impedance earphones, will the drivers get spoilt?
  20. Wow...must be selling for bomb to be aluminium...bump for you, anyways...
  21. Put it basically...the first time I plugged in my HD280's in...I grinned. Much improved clarity and depth.
  22. Main setup: EMU 0404 - HD280Pro Portables: Zen Micro - Sharp MD-33 Isn't much...but then again, I'm still pretty tight on cash considering I'm a student...DIY amp on Chrismas, perhaps.
  23. Is the u10 a touchsreen player? Doesn't look like there's any controls... Also...am getting sick of Creative's lack of quality control for the ZM...just after I 'repaired' the headphone jack problem...the switch can loose...had to superglue it back on. If there's one thing I have to say about the ZM, it's that it has an excellent design, suits my needs well....but the dammit, I want it to last....
