  1. Look on the bright side, at least I didn't got any freebies too.
  2. Maybe the reason is doesn't have a cord on one side or maybe both side is because everything is built-in? Like mp3 or tuner built-in?
  3. Dun look the same...... not very sunny side up compared to the one fan fan was wearing.
  4. If there is a discount, can I get a rebate? because i bought already.......

    Amps

Any shops in Singapore selling this amp?
  6. This is not good..... (look at my hd5 )
  7. CM3 should be around $49 if not lower, CM5 should be around $65 - $79...... check from Stereo (Aron) the last time i wanted to buy them, but might need to pre order.
  8. I think its very difficult to determine the strength of different headphones since its not only affected by its system (CD player/HP amp/DAC etc....), recording of CDs but also one's preference of good sound. Likewise its too general to say senn hp are good in classical since classical music has a wide scope to cover, and recording can be laid back and forward, extreme highs and extreme lows, quiet and noisy, loud and soft. Cases like this Senn might sound superior compared to Grado or vice versa. If you really have to know the answer, you should instead grab some of ur favourite CDs and test them out yourself. Or you can also buy all of them.

    Ferrite clamps

I have a question..... Since ferrite clamps only have direct effect on RF and EM interference in the cable, how does the orginal signal get altered during this process? I always thought its either you get an improvement from the clamps or get nothing (if there is minimum interference in the cable or system), didn't know clamps could technical cause a change in the orginal music source.

    Ferrite clamps

Certainly, just as they work for normal hifi equipment to reduce hiss and noise due to the EM and RF interference.
  11. in-ear would probably provide better isolation i think...... other than panasonic hje50 and Sharp md33, u can also try sony mdr-ex51lp (1.2m cable, unlike mdr-ex71 that is 0.5m plus another 1m extension) or Audio technica ath-ck5...... if u wait another 1 or 2 weeks, philips is launching a new "red colour" in ear earphone price around $49.
  12. Philips HP890 on sale at the classified section.
  13. Same price at Stereo Causeway Point. $15 per pair.
  14. I will go with the Grado SR-80 with SR-60 pads, reduces the slight brightness during loud playback. AKG K26 is an ideal headphone for your type of music too, adds more portability compared to the grados. Plus you save a 100 bucks..... K240...... maybe after you decide on a hp amp first. AT A500 should be out of your budget, AD500 is within except it sounds a little muffled compared to the grados. Philips..... never had any good experience with them, so...... no comment. Senn...... maybe the HD-515? below 200 bucks rite? but hp amp would be ideal for pairing with your iriver. If you have to choose between pxc100 and 200, then go for the 100. ( but the AKG K26 might be a better choice) Shure E2c is closes to your current earphone size for portability, not fantastic though but definitely an upgrade to your EX-71. Never got to try the beyers, ultrasone or alessandro....... The above is just me.
  15. I have the Ipod 20G, Creative Zen micro 5G and recently got the Sony 20G. Played thru Grado SR80 and yesterday Shure E4c i must say Sony is still my favourite follow by Ipod then Creative. Heard a lot about the iRiver so I'm planning maybe till they launch the next new model then...... This is so unhealthy.
  16. Norman Audio is the new distributor, maybe you can check them out too.

    Shure E4c

Just bought my first Shure earphone at Stereo yesterday and I have a question..... do you have to loop the cable over the ear or that part isn't compulsory? And since this earphone should be quite a good one already, there isn't any reason in the near future I should get another etymotic earphone right? ( please say right....)
  18. Retrospective is at the Adelphi. Try Hung bros or Stereo. i agree that comfort is what almost made me choose the AT over grado headphone, but still got the grados. Sooner or later, when i got sick of my grado, AT is most likely next on my shopping list.
  19. Maybe a portable headphone amp that runs on battery? Didn't felt the bass lacking at all the last time i heard it.... the 24p i mean.
  20. the sennheiser hd-201 is not bad for the price tag, I put on for a while, it's quite comfortable but first impression was that the bottom end sounded a bit hollow..... but for the price its still good value. Then I put on the AKG 24P i think.... (can't quite remember the model, but its a bit yellow with the steel band) Whoa! not as comfortable as my PXC200 at $99 but the sound is so much better I almost bought it on the spot ( waiting for payday ) and its only $69, I've also checked with Hung bros, its $10+ more expensive at hung, so you know where to go....... Grado SR60 is definitely the best catch if you have $120 to spare, listen to it and you'll understand.

    Sony HD5

i heard the HD5 compared to the Neeon on the same track....... HD5 is much better.
  22. Causeway point shopping centre. Demo set Grado sr60 sr80 AKG ??? can't remember.
  23. might be the replacable headband used on the DT880.
  24. i read somewhere in some forum that Beyerdynamics sells a headband that can also be used on the Grado..... where where
  25. Maybe you can call up Music by Design if they have any second hand sr60 since people might upgrade to higher range models.
