  1. doesnt matter. sensitivity = how many db/watt at a certain distance, i.e. how easy to drive and how loud it will be 96 is very decent......
  2. erm.. nope the px200 diapraghm doesnt burst that easily i think.. have you adjusted for a proper seal? cuz the pads dont seal well.. when you get a good amount of seal then the bass will be much better
  3. wow whats the damage?? 700-800sgd??
  4. stuff like erm.. amanda mcbroom, cai qin, norah jones, ayako hosakawa etc... need more recommendations~!~! chinese english also can thanks
  5. nope.. try some earphone solutions website or american techpushers or headroom etc
  6. quite a lot of hype abt them over the recent years.. ever since the closure of rogers.. the l3/5a speakers seem to be very heavily priced.. wonder if anyone had any experience with them? i know my dad's colleague has a pair.. he bought them over 10 yrs ago.. but i havent heard his set up yet
  7. i used to be a hifi person but took a headfi journey only a yr+ ago.. but it seems that after all these search.. listening, buying, selling and all.. i've still yet.. to discover sonic bliss i've just gotten myself a pair of old rogers.. and hooking them up with.. less expensive gear.. it seems that the hifi bug's bitten me again, especially with the juicy mids and silky sweet highs that i missed all these while. and it seems so alluring to.. quit headfi and go back to hifi again.. anyone faced something similar before? going on a long search... and back to square one eventually.. with a.. thinner wallet
  8. not too sure whether i got it right or not.. but.. happy erm.. 3rd bdae?
  9. the driver sizes are similar for most of their "similar" models. at 53mm.. except drivers differ.. some have a larger response range etc.. you could slap a couple of l3000 drivers.. into a similar designed housing etc.. lol unless someone wants to throw it into a dt880
  10. sorry, neutralzz -1, quitting headfi already..
  11. erm.. it depends on what headphone you are using before getting a specific amp.. once you've settled on your headphones, then you can probably listen around to see which amp gives you your desired sound.. the RA-1 is a fine amp for many headphones, you can actually roll opamps as a form of variation
  12. blues tins i emailed them b4... sg stock not in yet.. but soon
  13. erm... i feel that diminishing returns do not really kick in sometimes for headphones cuz.. its hard to cure one of.. the upgrading syndrome.. even a small difference is worth it sometimes because some individuals may be a little picky for that.. little more detail or little more edge etc.. if you like vocals i would prefer IEMS.. because of the intimacy. pop/rock = grado.. i find that on grados, electric guitar and all its pretty juicy sounding a balanced neutral performance maybe beyer dt 880/dt 150/dt 250 senns when paired with a source with brighter highers/clarity would be pretty remarkable in their performance as well.. i guess its most important for you to audition these phones yourself, and also take note of the equipment the headphone's amped on.. grados -> music by design has up to rs-1 for you to listen to beyerdynamics -> anything audio has most of the headphones for audition.. sennheisers i m not too sure abt where you can have a try on the 600/650..
  14. i still cant believe the l3000 drivers.. are 164 bucks for a pair
  15. wah?????????? 1 board how much now?? got any dupes or not? the original one if 38+ for board only its dam ex..
  16. many places. simlim square a lot of shops have.
  17. erm.. haha some "pseudo" internal monoblock or something? 2 outputs.. 1 headphone *edit..my mistake..didnt see properly.. left right split 19kg.. woots that must be some transformer
  18. even eckolofts 's having some dealers coming in and touting products... recent thread on some "speaker".. disappointing. creating clones and talking to each other an all..
  19. Which chinese amp was it? Convenient to post here? wasnt it Geee and Double U.. hmm..
  20. threadstarter, sorry for a bit of.. side track.. erm after having seen the little dot, the recent cap bursting in the ld2, any opinions on which parts are tentatively upgradeable to better components? i.e. volume pot and jack and all? can we order without the tubes? how much price difference will that be? i m a little more interested into the dot 3.. cuz of the potential output to speakers.. just a flick of a switch and i can push the output into a pair of high efficiency speakers maybe we could have a mass order for different models all together for the bestest price?
  21. haha.. i m far from good!! there are a lot of other diy masters around here who can do much better
  22. can we have the pcb instead? it might be better to load our own parts on the board though... although i strongly believe the core of sound does not exactly lie in the parts only but the design/feeback/biasing and all
