Hi Heady, so you bought how many solen caps and vishay caps? how many caps are there anyway? 2 inputs 2 output? I would like to change the caps to polys too... and how you bypass the solens using the vishay?? very hard to understand without schematics leh..

oh, so heady has already finished the amp, and with some mods to it. i think the change of the caps do really cleans up the sound huh. any particular reason to make you decide to get those caps? ok, i think i should be able to start the week after next...hope can clear up all my stuff at hands first...so maybe need your help then. so the transformer is farnell #696985?

hi guys, I have not started, neither have I even opened to take a look because quite busy over the weekend. I don't like to start and stop halfway so wanted to find a few days when I am free to start doing it. So is it hard to get it started? Heady, you very on leh....so fast bought the caps, casings, and transformer liao and have started looking at the manual. I think I am going to print the manual out today. Cheers.

just to add in my experiences when I bought my first 2nd-hand cdp: marantz cd6000 when I audition it, everything was fine. the cds load and play promptly. everything looks fine. However, when I power it on the 2nd day, the player always show a 'error' or 'no disc' when i put in the cds. only after letting it warm up for about an hour can it play the discs properly. so apparently it is a weak laser issue. so the previous owner has already suffiently warmed it up for me to audit when I am there. that's why there wasn't any problem when i audition it. so i have no choice but to warm up the player everytime I want to play it, until I finally change the lens last month. then there is zero warming up time. well, i bought it at a good price so I have nothing to complain about although the laser is weak. so, maybe you should request a 3-days personal warranty from the seller just in case. or power down, wait awhile, and power up again.

i am also thinking of using the soha as a pre...maybe i try my other hybrid first... u guys not serious in going Thailand just for that case right??...although Thailand is a great place to shop and relax.

hmm..i suddenly got an idea while bathing...haha maybe we can buy those spoilt cdps and make use of their casings instead? would be cheaper like that and won't look too bad too...

ah..it is heartening to see so many people interested in astronomy... well, there are potential other planets waiting to be discovered elsewhere so maybe they feel that it is time to redefine things...

hmm..well, pluto was sort of 'out of specs' to begin with. It is not as big as the rest of the eight planets, its orbital path is weird and its moon is also about half its size iirc..so well...either we stick to eight planets and less changes or get more and more planets on the list as we discover more far away 'dwarf planets'.

maybe a big value ones...i tried before 47000uF. but you can just try any caps and see whether the whizz go away..just soft bind them will do...don't work still can take away easily.
