did try the cable (quite long though) which came with the pocketdock, and it does sound good...but if you really want better sq, try changing to another cable...DIY cables from head-fi are one of the best...

well...some really do not like the UM2 and some do... as for me, im a UM2 user and i agree that it all depends on your source and tastes. the UM2 is a very sensitive earphone, so if you have a "not so good" source, the sound from the um2 will suck big time...and if you use it on the road with your DAP, the sound will also depend on the bitrate you use...as for me, i use it with my Xin SM3V6 amp and ipod, and personally, it sounds better than ety's and shure e4
