have used e2c and e3c with ipod mini (unamped). preferred e3c to e2c. e2c sounds relatively "veiled". suggest skip e2c. isolation of e3c also appeared relatively better (could also be due to familiarity in insertion). also check out the um1 (brief listen at Jaben). suggest go down with your gear to Jaben which allows audition (remember they have the shure, ety and westone for audition).

for the 1st 3, try Jaben (on 4th floor Adelphi). they have ety and westone for audition there. westone um1 iirc $230. e2c also available at Stereo Electronics and Anything Audio. price should be around $160 to $180 depending on promotion etc. can also check out earphonesolutions website. hope this helps.

on the whole, seems like the old DT880 ... ear pads, structure and headband appear same. grill certainly looks "sportier"

i think Jaben at Aldephi is planning to bring them in if i'm not mistaken. but they didn't commit on the date. iirc, the brand should be on jaben's namecard ...

the million $ questions: 1) price of new DT880 2) price of new DT990 (said to be new flagship) feedback on sound would be good too ...

if i remember correctly, Albert of Anything Audio mentioned that the new DT990 is the flagship model, while the old DT880 was the flagship model.

you can consider the noise isolation in-ear phones like Shure. Other brands of in-ears are Etymotics and Weston. Only have experience with the Shure e2c though. Makes trips on the bus and MRT more bearable ... Lots of threads here discussing the Shure and Etymotics

Tried it very quickly soon after i burnt in the Beyer (120 hours +). Felt dropped in SQ (less clarity/"muddy"). Stopped using it after that.
