In fact Uncle Wilson, showed me how this smaller little fellow actually drive his apri of tannoy, subsequently using the Xiangsheng as preamp... That very moment i thought this could be tube amp dream come true as its did produce what i would call a lushy tuby sort of music. . . Due to space constraint and the recent purchase of my Xiangsheng and MS2, i would like to hear more feedback from the owners of this amp before i decide to close my eyes, ignore my gf reluctance and my pocket constraint AND LET MY IMPULSE TAKE OVER.... hope my gf is not reading this. . . Just tell her it cost $10.

I always find adding a sub woofer somewhat changes the music. Not as accurate as it should be, not really sure about this any experts to clarify this. Not really an expert, but I think subwoofers might drown out some details. Frankly I think you really only need subwoofers for home theatre.

Check the compatibility stated on the plug-ins pages. not all plug-ins are compatible, some have not been ported to version 0.9 yet. As long as it says compatible with version 0.9 i think the beta version should be able to play.

Going by initial impressions, I would choose the ms2i

I heard both, the sound fairly close, but I think the ms2i sounds somewhat smoother and the vocals are way better.

got. but was already briefly mentioned by afbug in his impressions though. truth be told, the headphone jack on the LDM+ leaves alot to be desired. it has got to be the one of the worst i have in my house heh. everytime i insert/remove my UM2 plug connector i can feel the jack scraping roughly against it AND the inside of my heart too. The first phone I plug in was a KSC75 and I knew it might cause a problem with constant plugging and unplugging. The gold plating of the plugs might get scrap off. Maybe be a bit more gentle might help! Edit: I post my final impressions liao. Too lazy to write more. So thats it! lol, maybe you can mod the headphone jack with a better quality one and tell us the modded impressions.

Did you add in the tube sound plugin for foobar2000? that makes it sound really good. Can you elaborate what the tube sound plugin is all about? There is a third party plugin posted on the options website is I remember correctly. The plugin is to emulate the sound output as if through a tube amp.

Oh I did audition it tonight.....a subtle difference between the nEar 5 & nEar 6....unless you want to listen to you music LOUD, then I would think the nEar 5 is a better deal Oh, and I bought the nEar4. too....couldn't resist Heard you bought a iAudio X5L too. Actually Wilson has the nEar 06 in stock already, just that he did not bring it out on display last friday when you were there. But it is for audition now for those who wanna try the nEar 06. The nEar 06 is really awesome, really loud too.

I think that is a common flaw in the UE 5 pro build. Is that the new revised version or the old version? Wonder how many of these actually make it through intact when shipped over here.

They are good enough without headamps. Have tried it plugged directly to my iAudio X5L and it sounds pretty good unamped.
