  1. Nice shiny pot on the right side amp Master Bug o_O Where to buy arz? Does SLT carry it?
  2. White and Grey is a nice idea, subtle and simple if not just a tad bright. I'm just afraid it migh stain or dirty easily
  3. I don't know what colur combination ppl will usually like though. Input would be nice and I can try to see if I can mix and match. My suggestions are black and white. Simple plain black or white will also do.
  4. Hmm, just testing IMO, simplicity is the best, so why not a simple design? A lot of ideas listed here are good, so I placed them over at the bopttom of the pic. Hmm, some more: -Music, NOT Sound -Audio Perfection -Team Audiophiles -Hearin' the real thing
  5. 1. Roasty x1 M 2. joi-ful x1 M/L 3. That dude x1 XXL (really...) 4. Proton x1 (M, what colours are available?) 5. dle4e_2005 x1 S/M 6. ahdui x1 L/XL 7. zonalblitz_audio x2 (for now) M/L 8. kehyi x1 M/L 9. Theatre Of Dreams x1 M/L (depends on how big heez) 10. Zephyron X 1 (Size L) I've been thinking about this for a while =D Need T-shirt designers?
  6. Causeway Pt 1st floor near BreadTalk, about 11:50am-12:00pm, guy wearing... can't make out if its a UM1 or UM2, a bit far. Definitely a Westone tho.
  7. Maybe getting one, but I'll have to see about my financial conditions then first Also hoping the Rockbox team will be working on the new Nano as well. If anything, I think I'll get hte black coloured one Problem is, I still am a bit iffed by the rounded edges of the new Nano. The Shuffle's extremely small size is also very tempting though. Lookit how tiny that thing is Just random fill library with iTunes and away we go
  8. ^ Waittaminute, doesn't that somehow mean that the newer Nanoes utilize the Sigmatel chipsets as well? This is certainly good news IMO

Now's only a matter of time before this little island of ours will have them ashore as well. From this thread: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=198332 I don't think they look as bad as they were initially (though they still look the same). Somehow, maybe interested in getting one just for kicks after I save up enough $$$
  10. ^ For the 'first' time, gapless for the common folk maybe?
  11. What!? No iPod Flea? The 2nd generation Nano looks interesting... But what I don't like is that they seem to have rounded out the edges from the pic provided.
  12. New thing learned = Level Up! Thanks
  13. O_O;(!) 10k? Isn't that a bit of an overkill?
  14. Now that's... errr... freaky... Salt covered drivers for the win maybe? I have a mod for that that... might... just work I think
  15. I'm pretty much a newbie myself, nothing wrong with that bud Hmm, if I'm right, under normal circumstances, normal people can percieve differences in a certain frequency spectrum once the volume difference in that particular point drops or increases by at least 3dB (I'm not sure where the rest below the 3dB went, nor do I understand why they cannot be percieved *shrugs*). The following is just what I know and think about, but being new in this field, I should be wrong in more than just several places, so feel free to correct me as and when necessary: Falling withing that frequency spectrum volume graph drop (which is pretty much similar to the 2G, 3G, 4G, Mini iPods FYI. Theoretically, this graph is inapplicable due to the fact that its not carrying load, but rather, is connected directly to the testing system, the 3rd graph with a more realistic approach, a 32 Ohm load, is what you'd like to keep in mind) means that any kind of bass being played below the ~65Hz region can be percieved to be less in quantity than 'neutrality' (though this is debatable, since all kinds of equipment colorizes sound in one way or the other). As some of us know, ~60Hz and slightly above is the mid-bass area, where that 'thump' is. In the term bass rolloff in this context, it generally means there's less thump than there should be under normal circumstances. Same goes for the regions of bass below that. The extremely low bass notes (the ones that we can 'feel', rather than 'hear', I often associate that with bass extension) are what I think 'carry' the music, hence, that's why I think they're important. To have them cut in terms of volume output (aka rolloff, cutoff, falloff etc) makes them, to me, feel as if the music being played has a weak foundation, hence why people originally described the 2G, 3G, 4G and Mini iPods to be tinny/weak/lacks bass (non audio-geekoids I believe, I don't know where they tested all that and how as well).
  16. ^ No prob jasonhanjk: Interesting read. I guess I belong to the subjectivist side
  17. ^ Okay, fine with that. I didn't mean to offend anyone with those graphs and suddenly I get attacked like this? *lol*
  18. The difference is percievable, the graphs are only there to back it up. Hear it to believe it I'd say
  19. Nope, just saying that he can get 'better' sound using the same DAP by using alternative means. I didn't say the X5 was bad now did I?
  20. ^ Who knows? Maybe he got a better seal out of that? o_O Anyways, dunno if other SGHP members count or not, but I met Squalle and saw his UM2s again *lol*
  21. I must meet up personally to give to cash tho. Let's continue this in PM
  22. Ask and you'll recieve (as long as I've seen it being done or have done it myself, note that these 5G and X5 results were not tabulated by me) iAudio X5 VS iPod 5G volume matched. Both of these are taken from the HPO (Note that the fall off at the end of the lower bass spectrum did NOT reach 3dB, hence its supposedly unpercievable(sp?)). In short, when zoomed out, this graph's pretty flat. Oh yes BTW, I found the graph where amping the Lineout with a 32Ohm resistor is added in-between. Didn't do much help... Instead it got worse... I think a higher resistance MAYBE needed: EDIT: Add: If anyone's willing to lend me the Nano or anything else to test out, I'll be willing to help and test them out tho
  23. Just use the PA235 At maximum volume cut settings (which still lets the volume through FYI), the resistance is at 500 Ohms according to Shure. The setback is, you never know what resistance you've set the resistor to unless you've marked specific points of the volume knob and measured them to be of a certain resistance
  24. X5 and Lineout doesn't match. There's audible lower bass falloff if I remember right. You'd be better off amping from the headphone out, or adding a resistor inbetween the lineout and interconnect. EDIT: Never mind, found the image (Take note that this is without load)
