FC7s seem to be the most popular ATs around. Shiny cups, foldable (though not the "spectacles" fold), closed (though circumaural)... Really bassy (muddy) though...
-
These definitely look cheap, as compared to the CK7, though one must admit that using plastic as the driver casing will lighten the IEM. I certainly agree that they look really much like the D-Jays... PS: Look at the second picture carefully, there seems to be some botched up attempt at photo-editting for the cables. May just be erasing some dirt of the photos... Am I being paranoid? EDIT: The editted part looks like straws to me now... I must have been paranoid....

USD99 is the official price, though it should be slightly more expensive in Singapore. More than SGD200, but less than SGD300, that'll be my best guess...
-
I doubt the pricing is out yet. It should be in a similar price range as that of the UM1. You could always PM Stereo though. EDIT: A used one is going for S$140 in the classifieds. http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?show...t=0entry82979

Any Custom Mold for E500? Where can I make them?

Oops. I miss read the message... Here's the headfi thread (not too constructive though), though I'm sure you have seen it... http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=165408 -
Haha. Let's avoid headfi's biggest turnoff, Bose Bashing. Indeed, they do make over-priced equipment, but let's see how they make this one. Admittedly, Open Canalphones seem like an oxymoron...

It's interesting to see full-sized headphones on the streets. It almost seems crazy to have them on on the warm (read: hot) streets of Singapore, and walking or even commuting in the noisy train or bus isn't really the ideal location for critical listening. Simply shows how rushed we are, as Singaporeans...
-
The biggest criticism from headfi is that an open canalphone is as good as a non-isolating one. If it is open, the isolating properties will be also completely lost. BUT, Let's try them before bashing them (if they are really all that lousy).

Any Custom Mold for E500? Where can I make them?

I believe they can be done at Jaben. If I am not wrong, there's someone who uses the E500s with customs in this forum. -
There's actually 2 (probably 3) main factors when you choose higher end IEMs. Sound Signature Fit and... Perhaps price I'm sure the super fi. range isn't as comfortable as their westone counterparts...
-
Fine here, in the East. Yay. I can see the ships over at East Coast already.

Let's try to avoid anything related to money. I wouldn't want to be robbed wearing that...

Tests coming soon, and my next rig depends on it... I was promised a CDP (I think I'll go for the SCD CE595 if it is not too expensive) if I got a 3.8 average. Without a CDP, my future HD595 or AD900 would be useless.... *GASP* Haha, will definitely go as soon as possible...
-
Shesh, the more I read it, the more I get tempted to try them... When will the King of Headphones be removed from Jaben?
-
I doubt they'll close schools, unless the PSI hits something like 300 or the mystery illness affects more pupils. The haze seems to be easing up though, can't wait for a heavy rain. This brings me back to the (bad) old days in 1997 when I was just a little boy, staying at home, watching TV and monitoring the PSI index, which was in the high end 100+ to 200. Post number: Triple 7

^ I believe it is the HQ-2300D, right?
-
Sigh... The visibilty is horrible.
-
The general advice is to avoid trying on the UM2 when intending to buy the UM1. It really tempts people too much (though the price of the UM2 is around 3 times as much as the UM1)
-
Had a really basic portable rig of the Zen Micro + UM1. The bass was tight and nice, though there wasn't much of the bass extension. As opposed to my temporary stationary rig with a Panasonic PCDP + HQ1700 which offer a huge, flabby, muddy lower end. May seem rather bad for critical listening, but it's still rather enjoyable for some casual tunes. Jamie Cullum is on the PCDP now.

The "best" sleeves for you are really subjective. I personally feel that the triflanges (thanks uncle Wilson ) were the best for isolation AND comfort (when used with the UM1)

^ Unearthed?
-
^ It really depends on what sort of music you are talking about. Orchestra pieces require a wider soundstage, which IEMs often fail to provide. However, would you rather a HD201 to a UE10 pro for vocals? I know it's not a fair comparision, just used it to show that there are indeed some genres which IEMs are decent at.
-
Haha. On TV, Quan YiFeng was using some black custom IEMs
-
I don't think the E500 should be included in the list. Otherwise, the Triple fi. is a good choice to consider.
